| Abstract: | The fuel injection and combustion processes characteristics cyclic changes and their dis-tribution evenness in a multi-cylinder diesel engine are investigated by means of experimentand modelling. The cyclic amounts of fuel injected and the fuel injection rate in each cylinderare calculated based on the measured pressure in fuel line. The heat release rate in eachcylinder is also analysed based on the measured pressure in cylinder. It is shown that the fuelinjection evenness is one of the main causes of the combustion evenness. |
