红脚苦恶鸟在湖北分布初报

红脚苦恶鸟(Amaurornisakool)为鹤形目秧鸡科中型涉禽,分指名亚种和华南亚种,后者分布于我国。据《中国鸟类志》记载,红脚苦恶鸟在我国仅分布于贵州、湖南、安徽、江苏、浙江、广东、广西、福建、香港,数量较少,不常见。到目前为止还没有在湖北省分布的报道。2000年2月笔者在湖北省鄂州市采集到标本后,至2003年3月进行了持续跟踪调查,发现红脚苦恶鸟是当地的定居性鸟类,并有450只左右的种群数量,种群数量还在进一步增长。

Preliminary Report on Brown Crake''''s Distribution in Hubei Province

Brown crake (amaurornis akool) is a kind mid-style bird of gruiformes and rallidae .It contains two subspecies, including A.a.akool and A.a.coccineipes, and the last one distributes in our country.According to the record in the Birds Annals of China, the Amaurornis akools only distribute in Guizhou, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hongkong with a small quantity, and they are unusually seen.Up to date there is no report about their existing in Hubei.After having collected the specimen in Ezhou Municipality of Hubei Province, the writer has been carrying out a series of investigations following the tracks from February, 2000 to March, 2003.The results have been found that Amaurornis akools are the local residing birds with a certain quantity of about 450.And the quantity is still increasing further.
