Study on Seed Vigor of Hybrid Rice and Its Parents

The seed of hybrid of Shanyou63,Xieyou64 was found to be superior on germination,ageing resistance and the rate of seedling to those of their parents,but the ageing resistance and the rate of seedling of Shanyou63 were lower than those of Xieyou64.The relative electrical conductivity of dehisced seed was positively correlated with the rate of seedling (r=0 730) while the seed germination percentage was high.Seed vigor was affected by the rate of dehiscent chaff.Testing methods on seed vigor were discussed.It was found effective to determine the seed vigor using ageing test along with electrical conductivity method.
