| Abstract: | Regularly occurring mortalities of the flat oyster, Ostrea edulis L., on two sites, one in Galicia, Spain, and one in Yugoslavia, are reported. The oysters involved showed an apparent neoplastic condition of the haemocytes. No pathogen has been detected and the possible involvement of adverse water quality is suggested. |
