Comprehensive Reclamation of Salt-Affected Soils in China's Huang-Huai-Hai Plain

SUMMARY

Soil salinization and the related groundwater mineralization, drought, and waterlogging are the main factors that restrict the agricultural production in China's Huang-Huai-Hai Plain. This article discusses the principles and techniques adopted, the experiences and achievements of the Chinese agricultural scientists and technicians during the past two decades in the comprehensive reclamation of salt-affected soils and the development of agriculture in this Plain.
