| Abstract: | Three methods of pruning and transplanting were used to comparetheir effects on tree growth,light intensity and fruit yield in a densely-planted orchard of 7-10-year-old sweet orange(Citrus sinensis)trees.Severe pruning of every other tree and transplanting by stages were effectivein adjusting the relation between tree growth and light utilization,maitaining a favorable canopy coverage and achieving high yield perhectare.The accumulative yield of four years was 23.95% and 67.44% higherthan that in the other two treatments,in which cutting back pruning andtransplanting every other tree were adopted,respectively. |
