Abstract:Genetic differentiation among four species of Dendrolimus punctatus,D.tabulaeformis,D.spectabilis,and D.superans was analyzed based on COI gene sequences in order to clarify the taxonomic status of the four pine moths.The average base frequencies of 636bp COI gene sequences were obtained as A 34.75%,T/U 34.75%,C 15.25%,and G 15.25%.D.punctatus has the highest genetic diversity(3.93%),while the genetic diversity of D.superans is the lowest(0.629%).The genetic distance among the four spices is in the order of D.superans × D.spectabilis(0.083),D.superans × D.punctatus(0.068),D.superans × D.tabulaeformis(0.066),D.spectabilis × D.tabulaeformis(0.057),D.punctatus × D.spectabilis(0.054),and D.punctatus × D.tabulaeformis(0.012).The COI sequence can be used to identify the genetic relationship between the four species of pine months and is a suitable marker in Dendrolimus molecular taxonomy.
