Effect of sowing-date and marginal utility on sexual differentiation and yield of Herpetospermum pedunculosum

Through the comparative method,the effects of the different sowing-date and marginal utilities on sexual differentiation and yield of Herpetospermum pedunculosum were investigated to provide technical guidance and practical basis for the artificial cultivation.The results showed that compared to the plant sowed on May 7,female rate and yield of Herpetospermum pedunculosum could be significantly improved if the sowing-date delayed to June 20(P<0.01);and the effects of marginal utilities on the female rate of Herpetospermum pedunculosum were obvious in the two sides of row,with the distance from the end of plant row,the female rate of plant decreased sharply for the plant sowed on May 7,but the marginal utility had a fow effect on Herpetospermum pedunculosum sowed on June 20.Environmental factors had obvious effects on sexual differentiation,delaying sowing-date of Herpetospermum pedunculosum to late June,which was one of the main measures to solve the lower female rate and the low yield at the present stage.
