摘    要: 本文分析了中国农业科学院祁阳红壤实验站长期定位实验中系统观测结果,作者认为在红壤丘陵区恢复植被覆盖至关重要,只要排除人为破坏,自然植被很快就能恢复。一般只要3—5年就能全部覆盖,防止水土流失,改善土壤水热条件和养分状况,使生态环境走上良性循环的道路。在植被恢复初期,主要是多年生草本植物,逐步演化成草、灌、乔等多层次复合植被。在演化过程中我们观察到白茅(Imperata cylindrica)对假俭草(Eremochloa ophiuroides)的替代和灌木对白茅草的替代。

Abstract:This study summarized the data of long term experiment which was located on red soil research station of CAAS. The research showed that protecting barren hill enviro nment from human interference was an effective measure for the restoration of vegetation. In the early stage of vegetation restoration. The Imperata cylindrica and Eremochloa ophiuroides were pioneer plant. They could tolerate the effect of seasonal drought and high temperature in the subtropical area. These herbaceous species, which possess wide adapt ability are of perennial geophyte and hemicryptophyte. With the gradual increase of plant population and biomass, the competition and succesion among the plants took place. Invasion of Eremochloa ophiuroides grass communities had been gotten by Imperata cylindrica sciophyte shade herbaceous species emerged. Only in 5 years the barren hill had been covered everywhere with abundant vegetation. As hill vegetation was restored, soil errosion was under control, surface soil water content increased, and so was the relative humidity. Soil temperature was also stabalized as a result of vegetation coverage. Soil organic matter, available nutrients were also increased, soil conditions were improved.
