Culling or eradication is the most effective contingency measure against bird flu and the compensation for culled poultry is a necessary remedy for the losses suffered by the culled poultry owners,whose will and enthusiasm of cooperation are both directly affected by the level of the government's culling compensation.Based on the analysis of defects in the current standard of compensation,a discussion was given to the necessity and feasibility of market price standard and some corresponding countermeasures were finally put forward.
