| Abstract: | In this study the hybrid rice system containing male sterile line, restoring line, F_1, F_2 and the hybrid F_1, F_2 derived from the cross between wild rice and cultivative rice were uscd for comparison of male sterility. Thc percentages of stained pollen, bagged seed setting and unbagged seed setting of F_1, F_2 and their parents were obtained separately. The study shows that the fertility is characterized by both segregation among individuals in F_1 and continuous distribution in F_2. Based on these facts, it deduces that the male sterility of rice is a quantitative character. |
