Abstract:The contents and adsorption behavior of phosphate onto particulate matter from the Wulanbuhe Desert and Kubuqi Desert in the Yellow River water system were researched. The results indicated that:(1) The contents of inorganic P(IP),organic P(OP) and total P(TP) in different desert particles were different, and their means were 257.70 μg/g,42.65 μg/g and 312.39 μg/g,respectively;(2) The adsorption behavior of desert particulate matter to phosphate was influenced by the temperature and different particles, but their adsorption isotherms all had the same changing tendency and fitted well with Freundlich model and Langmuir model, also were in good agreement with linear equations, showing remarkable positive correlation.Based on Langmuir equation(4),the most adsorption capacities of P on different desert particulate matter under 25℃,35℃ and 45℃ were obtained and were in ranges of 0.074 to 0.110mg·g-1,0.054 to 0.131mg·g-1 and 0.024 to 0.132mg·g-1,respectively,which could really reflect the adsorption capacities of particulate matte to P after entering the Yellow River waters.
