莫古里在中国的竹学成就

凝练竹业精髓，总结竹学成果，弘扬竹子文化。美国竹学家莫古里(Floyd Alonzo McClure)在竹学领域的开创性成就对于中国乃至世界竹学的发展产生了深远影响。文章系统整理了莫古里在1920—1940年在中国建立竹种园、引种和研究竹子、进行竹产业调查、开展竹子种苗繁育试验的实践与理论成果。20年间莫古里在华南和华东地区进行了内容丰富的竹学考察，定义了竹子的假小穗等术语，提出和实践了竹子可以先根据秆箨特征命名、再补充花果性状定名的“先名补花”的竹子特别命名法则，促进了竹类生物多样性研究。此外，文章整理了莫古里科学定名的55个竹子分类群(包括5变种),更新了莫古里命名的45个竹种的系统位置与学名，以供研究者参考使用。

Floyd Alonzo McClure's Bamboology Achievement in China

This paper is to condense the essence of bamboo sector, summarize the achievements of bamboo science, and carry forward bamboo culture. The pioneering achievements of American scientist Floyd Alonzo McClure in the field of bamboology have exerted a profound impact on the development of bamboo science in China and even in the world. This paper systematically summarizes and reviews the practices and theoretical achievements made by Floyd Alonzo McClure in bamboo gardens building, bamboo species introduction and study, bamboo industry investigation, and bamboo seedling breeding experiment in China from 1920 to 1940. In that 20 years, McClure conducted the bamboo investigation covering a large range of fields in South China and East China. He defined the bamboo terminology (ex., the pseudospikelet), and came up with and practiced the special nomenclature of bamboo that the feature of bamboo culm sheaths can classify bamboo before the appearance of the reproductive organs (flowers and fruits), which promotes research on bamboo diversity. In addition, the paper classifies and collates 55 bamboo taxa (including 5 intraspecific varieties) named by McClure and updates the other 45 taxa, which provides references for researchers.
