| Abstract: | The paper gives a brief historial review of the fact that Dongting Lake, served as the detention basin of Kingjiang River to save the latter from flood damage since the 16th century,resulted in the deterioration of the water conservency of the lake area. The author has made a preliminary study,co-ordinated with the construction of the Three Gorges Project, the remodeling and regulation of the lake, to better its hydrological condition and proposed a scheme of his design. |
