| Abstract: | AIM: To investigate the expression and significance of Tie2 in various tumor cells. METHODS: Expression of Tie2 in 8 tumor cell lines on mRNA and protein levels was detected by RT-PCR, Western blot and immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Tie2 gene was expressed to various degree in Hela, SPC-A1, BEL-7402 and U2OS cells. CONCLUSIONS: Tie2 expression not only in vascular endothelial cells but also in some tumor cells. Tie2 may be a novel tumor marker of some neoplasms, contributing to the diagnosis of tumor and providing a novel potential target for tumor therapy. |
