Abstract:In order to select the suitable forage millet for Hohhot area of Inner Mongolia,a field experiment was conducted from 2018 to 2020 to evaluate forage production adaptability and cost-benefit of 12 domestic millet cultivars.The results showed that the range of plant height,fresh and hay forage yield were 146.8~202.2cm,38819.4~63181.6kg/hm2and 10469.9~16698.2kg/hm2,respectively,and there were significant differences in three indexes among different cultivars(P<0.05).Based on the average fresh grass yield in three years,the regression equation of fresh yield and plant height was Y=-20245.917+384.250X,and that of hay yield was Y=-4792.872+99.097X.Forage quality of DXXM-13-2 was better than that of Mengjingu No.1.Combined with cost-benefit analysis,DXXM-13-2 had the highest net profit of 8712.75 yuan/hm2.Comprehensive analysis showed that DXXM-13-2 and Mengjingu No.1 were more suitable for promotion and planting in Hohhot,and they were high quality forages with great development potential.
