| Abstract: | The content and mineralogical composition of clays in the irrigated and nonirrigated pre-Caucasian chernozems in Rostov oblast were studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. Irrigation caused an increase in the content of this fraction in plow layers. The main changes in the mineralogical composition comprised a decrease in the quantity of illites and increase in labile minerals. |
