Innovative Management and Practice in Japan-Loaned Afforestation Project in Shaanxi

Shaanxi Loess Plateau Afforestation Project is the first afforestation project which was funded by foreign government loan.The objectives of the project are to improve ecological environment,promote social and economic development,and speed up poverty reduction in the project area.In the project implementation,advanced forestry project development concepts and methodology were applied in combination with the forestry development situation in Shaanxi Province,and the project implementation underwent successfully.The implementation of the project not only improved the ecological environment and helped the local people get rid of poverty,but also helped us formulate the concept of modern forestry management,which will play an important role in promoting forestry institutional reform in Shaanxi Province.
