Features of New Quality Indica Rice Jiazao I of Early Maturity and its Culture Research

Jiazao 1, a new quality indica rice variety of Early Maturity, was certified in 2007 by the Fujian Provincial Committee on New Agricultural Variety Certification （Minshendao 2007002）. Its growth period is relatively short and its quality is generally up to the Standard Level 2 for Quality Edible Rice, which was promulgated by the Ministry of Agriculture. It yields high and relatively tolerates rice blast. All these features indicate a bright prospect of extension. This culture research which is targeted at the variety characteristics has been conducted by means of regional experiment, production test and identification of rice blast and rice quality,and present support techniques for high yield culture.
