| Abstract: | Summary Meiotic behaviour of haploid plants of Brassica nigra which arose parthenogenetically amongst the progeny of B. nigra × B. campestris, is described. The presence of two bivalents and s-s associations suggests the basic chromosome number w as six and the present x=8 number arose through the duplication of two of the original chromosomes. |
