关于“文化缺省”内涵的几点思考

文化缺省是指交际双方在交际过程中对双方共有的文化背景知识的省略。文章对国内文化缺省翻译研究的现状进行总结，就王东风提出的“文化缺省”概念，探讨现今翻译研究中“文化缺省”概念运用的混乱局面及其原因，并从文化翻译层面上对文化缺省，文化空缺，文化专有项与文化负载词的关系，及其从翻译与翻译研究层面上对“文化缺省”概念的内涵进行相关论述和补充。

On the Connotation of Cultural Default

Cultural default is defined as ＂absences of relevant cultural background knowledge shared by the author and his intended readers. ＂ This paper has summarized the current situation of studies on cultural default, based on which, the reasons for the misuse of cultural default are explored. And from the perspective of cultural translation, the relationship among cultural default, cultural vacancy, cultural-specific items and cultural-loaded words as well as the connotation of cultural default are discussed and supplemented.
