| Abstract: | The presence of type X protein antigen was discovered in group G streptococci. This antigen appears to be related to infection in the bovine udder. In contrast to group B type specific polysaccharide antigens, the type X protein antigen seems to be unrelated to human infection. The importance of this phenomenon in epidemiology is suggested. |
