Heathland management in Surrey,England

Heathland in Surrey, England, is managed primarily for purposes of amenity and wildlife conservation. Many of the ecological problems associated with the management of the open heath areas stem from frequent, accidental fires and from the absence of grazing. This study discusses the causes and consequences of these problems for heathland managers.
