农用林业及其与社会林业的关系

本文论述了在用林业的概念及分类,以及农用林业与社会林业的关系,农用林业是一独立学科,没有社会林业的介入,农用林业照样生存。农用林业是社会林业的基础,社会林业又是农用林业及其用户—农民的中间桥梁。

Agroforestry and Its Relation with Social Forcstry

The present paper discusses the concept and classification of agroforestryand its relation with social forestry.Agroforestry is an independent discipline andcan exist by itself without the intervention by social forestry.In fact agroforestry isthe base of social forestry and social forestry acts as a bridge between agroforestryand its users,the farmers.Agroforestry has long been practised in China on large scale in various modes,adaptable to arid,semiarid,temperate,subtropicaland tropical regions.For example,up to now,there are 20 million ha ofshelterbelt network consisting of various tree species,especially poplars,and 3million ha of arable land under farm crops interplanted with Paulowniatrees.Meanwhile,much effort has been spent in researches on the biological,ecological,economic and social aspects or most of concrete modes ofagroforestry.On the whole the development of forestry in China may be consideredas social forestry,since in each step of its development,government and individ-uals intervened,such as the establishment of a well-organized forestry extensionsystem.But basic theoretical research is lacking in either agroforestry or social for-cstry.Though much work is done by researchers,yet they have no clear concep-tion of the essence of agroforestry and social forestry.
