Comparative experiment of different flue-cured tobacco varieties in Jiangchuan tobacco-growing area

In order to select new flue-cured tobacco varieties suitable for popularize in the field of Jiangchuan tobacco-growing area, variety comparative experiments were carried out under characteristic ecological conditions in Xiongguan Township of Jiangchuan District. In this study, six flue-cured tobacco varieties Yunyan 99, Yunyan 100, Yunyan 105, Yunyan 121, KRK26 and K326 were used as materials to study the growth period, botanical characters, disease resistance, and main agronomic and economic characters, to explore the excellent flue-cured tobacco varieties suitable for planting in Jiangchuan District of Yuxi City. The results showed that Yunyan 105, Yunyan 121 and KRK26 had the best comprehensive performance in terms of growth period, botanical characters, agronomic characters, disease resistance and economic characters. They had stronger adaptability and better yield and quality. As backup flue-cured tobacco varieties, their supporting cultivation and baking techniques could be further studied and popularized in Jiangchuan tobacco-growing area.
