THE ECONOMIC BENEFIT EVALUATION ON LARGE AREA SHRUB IN YANCHI COUNTY

From 1983 to 1988, the achievements in scientific research of "ten thousand musand-control model forest on the outskirts district of Yanchi County" had priorly beenspread by Yanchi County. Through carrying out the afforested orientation of taking irriga-tion as the dominant factor, in six years, the newly afforested shrub forest of all kinds is754,700 mu. The coverage came up to 11 percent. The ecological environment gotconsiderable improvement and achieved fine economic benefit. 1. In six years, qualified Caragana microphylla forest afforested, 583,600 mu is checkedand accepted, Caragana Korshinskii is 54,800 mu and Salix gordejeuii is 116,300 mu. The ef-fective area of C. microphylla forest is 981,500 mu, C. korshinskii forest is 51,600 mu, S.gordejeuii forest is 120,000 mu. All of them amount to 1,153,100 mu. 2. The immediat economic benefits including shrub biomass output value, increasedproduction value of herbage in the forest for sealing three years, seed collecting income, are48,516,000 yuan. 3. The indirect economic benefit shows the remarkable sand-control effects. Therewere 500,000 mu shifting sandland had been fixed within six years. Nearly one million musandy grasslands had been covered with vegetable. In 1987, the shrub forest was opened forfighting natural calamities and protecting the livestork, it made the income increase2,896,400 yuan by way of reducing the sheep mortality, yearly Processing and wearing in-come are 149,500 yuan, and the other ways of processing and utilization are exploiting. 4. The investing benefit is remarkble. 5,853,800 yuan had been invested in the shrub for-est within six years. Converting into the 1988 value it is 7,552,500 yuan, but the total net in-come are 40,963,500 yuan. The income rate is 54,200 yuan per yuan. 5. The expected economic benefit, taking twenty years utilizable period as calculation,the shrub forest economic income will come up to 17,116,800 yuan. If 1983 to 1988 practi-cal profit was added, the value was 121,981,700 yuan. The income rate of investment is 161,500 yuan per yuan.
