Abstract: | It is explicit that forest harvesting operaions have effects on forest soil at the operation sites. In this paper, investigaions for changes of physical and chemical properties of soil in a larchbirch forest occurred after operations, have been carried out in Daxing'anling Forest Region, northeast part of China. And the further influences on regeneration at sites have been studied. The investigations and studies focus on changes of soil properties and the regenefation qualities caused by harvesting operations. The preliminary results of field surveys and laboratory analysis show that significant differences between reference soil and soil disturbed by harvesting operations. Based on these results, the authors of this paper presented a certain number of recommendations for practical harvesting operations from the point of view of environment considerations as well as development of the larch forest. |
