Developing Status and Future Perspective of Forestry Sciences in the World

Reviewing and comparing the history of the three times of industrial revolutions and the pioneering progress in agricultural breeding and chemical techniques, forestry science has drawed lessons from tortuous and bitter experience in the stage of rising and the stage of overlaying productive to accessing natural forest.Facing to the status of classical methodology but poor research instrument,the art of state technology but sluggish theory,and rich achievements but a few application and extension, the necessary and urgency are increased gradually. In the future, china's forestry should pay more attention to the application of the biotechnology and information techniques,and be hoped to create a new field for contributing to global sustainable forestry.
