Abstract:Seven common wheat varieties (Triticum aestivum cv.) with different genetic backeround, as female and male, were used to cross with white rye (Secale cereale L.) and Ae. ovata L.,respectively. The fertility of the normal crossing between common wheats and white rye ranged from 6.8% to 78.8%. From 31.5% to 35.4% for their reciprocal crossing. While the fertility of normal crossing between common wheats and Ae. ovata were from 15.7% to 60.3%, that of 26.9% to 61.3% for their reciprocal crossing. The results indicated that the crossability of common wheat with white rye or Ae.ovata was different in the reciprocal crossings and in the different crossing combinations. The crossability of nomal crossing between common wheat and the two relative species was mainly controlled by the genotype of common wheat as female. On the contrary, the crossability of their reciprocal crossing was not related to the wheat genotypes as male.
