Study on Clinical Efficacy of Oligosaccharide Sulfate and Dextran Sulfate Against Bovine Mastitis

In order to detect the clinical efficacy of oligosaccharide sulfate(DEAE) and dextran sulfate (DS-4000) against bovine mastitis,56 cows with bovine mastitis were divided into 5 groups (DEAE group,DS-4000 group,DEAE＋penicillin group,DS-4000＋penicillin group and penicillin group),and their breasts were perfusion with different drugs twice one day for 3 days.The effective rates of drugs were observed by clinic symptoms.Milk samples were collected before and after treatment of drugs,and the bacterial negative conversion rate of each group were detected by microbial examination.The results showed that total effective rates of 5 groups were 10.00%,20.00%,58.33%,75.00% and 50.00%,respectively,and the bacterial negative conversion rates were 0,12.50%,50.00%,54.55% and 44.44%,respectively.In conclusion,the curative efficiencies of the polysaccharides against bovine mastitis were weak,but it could be improved by combination with penicillin.     

Pollen biology of ornamental ginger (Hedychium spp. J. Koenig)

An improved in vitro pollen germination assay was developed to assess the viability of stored Hedychium pollen. The effect of polyethylene glycol (PEG) (10, 15, and 20%, w/v) on pollen germination and tube growth was evaluated for Hedychium longicornutum and two commercial Hedychium cultivars, ‘Orange Brush’ and ‘Filigree’. Overall, the inclusion of PEG 4000 in the medium improved both pollen germination and tube growth for the three different genotypes tested and the results varied depending on genotype. In vitro germination was used to assess the viability of Hedychium pollen stored up to two months. Pollen nucleus status was determined for four Hedychium cultivars, ‘Orange Brush’, ‘Anne Bishop’, ‘Filigree’, and ‘Daniel Weeks’. Pollens of ‘Orange Brush’, ‘Anne Bishop’, and ‘Daniel Weeks’ were found to be binucleate but ‘Filigree’ was shown to possess both binucleate and trinucleate pollens. High pollen:ovule ratio values were obtained in several Hedychium taxa. The results obtained on the nuclear pollen status and pollen:ovule ratios will further our understanding of the pollination biology and help clarify the taxonomy and phylogeny of Hedychium species.     

低聚糖硫酸酯及右旋糖酐硫酸酯对临床型奶牛乳房炎治疗效果的研究

为探究低聚糖硫酸酯（DEAE）及右旋糖酐硫酸酯（DS-4000）对临床型奶牛乳房炎的治疗效果,将56头患临床型乳房炎奶牛随机分为5组（DEAE组、DS-4000组、DEAE＋青霉素组、DS-4000＋青霉素组及青霉素对照组）,进行药物乳房灌注治疗,每天2次,连用3 d,并在治疗前后分别采集奶样进行细菌学检测。临床观察统计各治疗组有效率,细菌检测统计细菌转阴率。结果显示,奶牛乳房灌注DEAE、DS-4000、DEAE＋青霉素、DS-4000＋青霉素及青霉素进行治疗3 d后,总有效率分别为：10.00%、20.00%、58.33%、75.00%和50.00%;乳汁细菌转阴率分别为：0、12.50%、50.00%、54.55%和44.44%。结果表明,DEAE及DS-4000对临床型奶牛乳房炎有一定的治疗作用,但效果不理想,与青霉素联用可以增强抗生素的疗效。     

BT悬浮菌剂（4000国际单位）防治大豆孢囊线虫的初步研究

试验结果表明：BT悬浮菌剂（4000国际单位）对大豆孢囊线虫有较好的防效,试验中的防效达49.3%~62.1%,有一定的增产效果,建议应用时以BT悬浮菌剂（4000国际单位）药种比1∶30为宜。
