A polypeptide isolated from porcine hypothalami stimulates the release of both luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone from the pituitaries of several species. This polypeptide has been structurally identified as (pyro)Glu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH(2) and synthesized. The natural and synthetic materials share biological properties. It appears that this peptide represents the hypothalamic hormone regulating the secretion of both luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone.  相似文献

In this study, to summarize the changes of thermal-softening behaviors of wood and acetylated wood due to differences in the kinds of swelling liquids, the following measurements were conducted. Untreated and acetylated wood samples were swollen by various liquids and the temperature dependences of the dynamic viscoelastic properties were measured after the heating and cooling histories were unified among the samples. The results obtained are as follows. Untreated samples swollen by high-polarity liquid had lower peak temperature of tanδ, however acetylated samples had higher peak temperature of tanδ than those of untreated wood. On the other hand, untreated wood samples swollen by low-polarity liquid had higher peak temperature of tanδ, however acetylated samples had lower peak temperature of tanδ than those of untreated wood. The amount of swelling is determined by interaction between wood and liquid due to proton-accepting power and molar volumes of liquid and so on, therefore the peak temperature of tanδ and degree of reduction in dynamic elastic modulus () with increasing temperature were corresponded to the amount of swelling.  相似文献

There are few pedological studies in Japan of fresh volcanic ash. Fundamental information of the material from which Japanese volcanic-ash soils have developed, is of importance to obtain a better understanding of pedogenesis of such soils. The present paper deals with the mechanical. mmeralogical, and chemical characteristics of fresh ash ejected from the Sakurajima and Aso volcanoes which are among the most active in Japan.  相似文献

In Japan anthropogenic-alluvial soils excluding irrigated rice soils are lagging for behind other genetic soil types in pedological investigations. Although there are some investigations of anthropogenic-alluvial soils used for mulberry plantations, orchards, vegetable gardens, and seeding beds for trees, the main object of these investigations is not pedological. Kanno et al. (1) reported that unirrigated anthropogenic-alluvial soils used for vegetable growing in the Chikugo Plain resemble the “Alochthonous brown warp soil” defined by Kubiena (2). First of all, it is of great importance to accumulate general data for unirrigated anthropogenic-alluvial soils and to develop the classification principles for them. Classification problems will be settled in accordance with the accumulated data. This paper deals with characteristics of an unirrigated anthorpogenic-alluvial soil found in the Kumamoto Plain and with classification principles for it. These principles have almost never been described for a pedological standpoint in Japan.  相似文献

One of the main objects of the present study is to determine what genetic soil types have been formed from ultra-basic rocks such as serpentine under humid, subtropical conditions. Red-Yellow soils, which are important zonal soils in Kyushu, have not been formed from serpentine, but Brown Forest soils have been formed, as will be described in the part 2 of this paper. This fact for the most part has been governed by the mineralogical and chemical peculiarities of serpentine. Therefore the part 1 of this paper deals with the mineralogical and chemical characteristics of serpentine as a parent rock from which Brown Forest soils have developed.  相似文献

Several years ago the writers (6) found peculiar amorphous grains having a low refractive index (n = 1.45) in the tine sand fraction of Japanese volcanic-ash soils, especially in the A horizons of glassy-ash soils (Onji type). These grains have been considered PELE's tears (liquid lava drops) or bead-like glassy grains on the basis of their relative abundance in volcanic-ash soils. Their morphological, and chemical characteristics have been reported elsewhere by the authors (6). Furthermore, it has been noticed that many of red-yellow soils and paddy soils contain varying amounts of these grains. Some Japanese agronomists and phytopathologists have previously pointed out that silica cells in leaves of Oryza sativa have the effective power of resistance to blast (Imochi disease).  相似文献

Red-Yellow soils are widely developed on terraces and hilly lands in the south-western half of Japan. They do not show any evidence of bleaching in the lower part of the A horizon, and are characterized by an extremely strong acid reaction, and a very low base-status9). There are few studies on clay mineralogy of Red-Yellow soils in Japan. Egawa et al4). have reported on clay mineralogy of soils derived from the Pleistocene and the Tertiary sediments most of which may be regarded as Red-Yellow soils. Matsui and Katô10) have described clay minerals of Red-Yellow soils derived from the Pleistocene sediment in the environs of Shinjobara, Shizuoka Prefecture. These investigations indicated that clay minerals of Red-Yellow soils derived from the Pleistocene sediments consisted mainly of kaolin minerals, whereas those of Red-Yell ow soils derived from the Tertiary sediments were of the kaolin-illite association.  相似文献

Recently, micropedological investigations have become an important means to explain some pedogenetical processes. The micromorphological features of Brown Forest soils and Mountain Brown Forest soils have been reported by several investigators(12, 14–15), Braunerde can be distinguished from Braunlehm by the presence of a spongy structure, immobility of peptizable iron hydroxides, or by the absence of any fluidal structure in its (B) horizon. In his review on micropedology, osmond(16) has stated that Brown Earths do not show any evidence of illuviation of ferruginous compounds or clay formed by oxidative weathering. As a result of micromorphological investigations on soils derived from serpentine in Greece, Krause(12) has described that the dominant soil of the hillsides is rubefied Braunlehm (Rotlehm), whereas the soil developed on valley terraces is Braunerde which appears as a transformation product of Rotlehm and has a spongy fabric in the A horizon.  相似文献
