Knowing the quality of mill streams is very important for obtaining standardized flours with intended qualities for specific applications. The physicochemical and rheological quality of wheat flour mill streams obtained through industrial milling were analyzed. Rheological behavior was tested using alveograph, rheofermentograph, and mixolab equipment. The results obtained indicate that the starch damage, protein quality, and rheological properties vary with the mill streams. Three variants of breadmaking flours, obtained by blending different milling fractions without negatively affecting the extraction and final product quality, were characterized.  相似文献

Water deficit (WD) typically associated with drylands and poor land use currently represent a major limiting factor for agricultural systems in numerous regions of the world. The present study aims to analyze the relationship between water deficit and corn (Zea mays L) crop yields in southern Oltenia drylands. The study includes the post-1990 period, which is representative for Romania in terms of ample climate changes and poor land planning decisions affecting water resources. This analysis targeted the vegetation period of corn (April–September), the reference period covering a 14-year interval, from 1990 to 2003. The entire analysis was based on spatialized WD data (mm), obtained by interpolation methods used on climate data provided by regional weather stations, and agricultural yield data (tons/hectare/year), recorded in 113 administrative territorial units. Both data sets were analyzed in terms of interannual statistical relationships, established in compact climate zones delineated by Thiessen-Voronoi polygons. The results showed a clear statistical relationship between the two variables, with an average dependence of corn yields on water of approximately 65%. The range was from 55 to 78%, depending on region. The results showed an average yield decrease of 16.5 kg/ha/year for each mm rise of the WD, or loss of 1.65 t/ha/year when considering a deficit rise of 100 mm. Therefore, in the context of increasing future WD, urgent action is needed in order to reintroduce irrigation systems.  相似文献

Even if it is less polluting than other farm sectors, grape growing management has to adopt measures to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to preserve the quality of grapevine by-products. In viticulture, by land and crop management, GHG emissions can be reduced through adjusting methods of tillage, fertilizing, harvesting, irrigation, vineyard maintenance, electricity, natural gas, and transport until wine marketing, etc. Besides CO2, nitrous oxide (N2O) and methane (CH4), released from fertilizers and waste/wastewater management are produced in vineyards. As the main GHG in vineyards, N2O can have the same harmful action like large quantities of CO2. Carbon can be found in grape leaves, shoots, and even in fruit pulp, roots, canes, trunk, or soil organic matter. C sequestration in soil by using less tillage and tractor passing is one of the efficient methods to reduce GHG in vineyards, with the inconvenience that many years are needed for detectable changes. In the last decades, among other methods, cover crops have been used as one of the most efficient way to reduce GHG emissions and increase fertility in vineyards. Even if we analyze many references, there are still limited information on practical methods in reducing emissions of greenhouse gases in viticulture. The aim of the paper is to review the main GHG emissions produced in vineyards and the approached methods for their reduction, in order to maintain the quality of grapes and other by-products.  相似文献
