The progressive morphohistopathologic changes, distribution pattern of lesions and ultrastructural characteristics in Eimeria arloingi infection were investigated in experimentally infected kids. The 18 newborn animals allocated to 3 equal groups. Two of groups,
A, B were inoculated with a single dose of 1 × 103 and1 × 105 sporulated oocysts of E. arloingi, respectively. At 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, and 42 days postinoculation (DPI), 1 kid from each group was necropsied for pathologic
and ultrastructural studies. Progressive lesions were present at 21, 28, 35 and 42 DPI in the jejunum, ileum, cecum with fewer
in the duodenum and proximal colon. The oocysts shedding begin between 16 to 18 DPI. Grossly, minimal changes were observed
at 21 DPI as few whitish plaques or nodules and advanced lesions at 42 DPI as pseudoadenomatous pattern in the mucosa and
a cerebriform pattern on the serosal surface of jejunum and ileum. Early histopathologic lesions due to schizogony phase were
including presence of intracytoplasmic developmental stages of the parasite such as trophozoites, immature to mature schizonts
and mild infiltration of inflammatory cells. In late lesions due to various stages of gametogony, the histological pattern
was mainly remarkable hyperplasia of the villi and crypts epithelial cells, eventually developed into papillary projections
of reactive epithelium. The mesenteric lymph nodes showed a few numbers of large schizonts in the cortical lacteals. This
study showed E. arloingi as a highly pathogenic species for kids, the incubation period was 16–18 days and the main target organ was jejunum with
characteristic morphohistopathologic lesions. 相似文献

Multilayer microencapsulation of fish oil was evaluated by using fish gelatin (treated with or without microbial transglutaminase [MTGase]), chitosan, and maltodextrin for its ability to control lipid oxidation. This study showed that a mixture containing gelatin and maltodextrin obtained the highest percentage of core release. The oxidative stability of the formulated mixtures and the bulk oils was investigated during a period of 60 days. The peroxide value (PV) was assessed as a parameter for primary oxidation products, and p-anisidine (p-AV) and thiobarbituric acid reactive sub-stances (TBARS) was used to analyze secondary oxidation compounds. Observation of oxidation products showed that combinations of gelatin and maltodextrin made by adding MTGase and a mixture of gelatin and chitosan were able to increase the oxidative stability, and increases in PV and p-AV and TBARS were found for all oils. 相似文献

Naturally occurring cryptosporidiosis is reported in turkey poults suffering from diarrhoea and unthriftness in Iran. Histological and ultrastructural studies revealed high number of Cryptosporidium developmental stages mainly located in the mid and terminal portions of small intestine of the poults. Other portions of the intestinal tract were less frequently infected. Oocyst shedding was detected only in 29% of the histologically positive birds. Based on host species, clinical signs, pathology and tissue location of the parasites, Cryptosporidium meleagridis was most likely responsible for these infections. This parasite was also reported recently in a child with diarrhoea in Iran. 相似文献

Thyroid hormones might be able to regulate the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxidase
(GPX). The role of thyroid hormones in metabolic pathways and antioxidant enzyme activities are well known in many species.
Nevertheless, there is no report describing probable relationship between thyroid hormones status, erythrocyte antioxidant
enzymes and serum profiles of trace elements. This study was undertaken to investigate the relationship between these parameters
in Iranian dromedary camels. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein of 30 clinically healthy Iranian dromedary camels
under aseptic conditions during 6 consecutive days of summer. The serum was analyzed for serum profile of thyroid hormones,
trace elements, SOD and GPX activity. There were no significant differences in serum thyroid hormones, serum level of zinc
(Zn), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), selenium and antioxidant enzymes in different days (P > 0.05). There was a significant
negative correlation between SOD and Fe (P < 0.01, r = -493). There was no significant correlation between other parameters.
In case of copper deficiency likewise the present study, the copper was used to produce more SOD, so there was a decrease
in Fe transportation, and it might be a cause of decrease in Fe amount. On the other hand, a relatively small quantity of
Fe is present in tissue myoglobin, catalase, peroxidases, and cytochromes. So it might be another cause of decrease in Fe
amount. The explanation for these finding is not possible at this moment and further investigations are needed to interpret

This study was carried out in two observational clinical studies. Study 1 comprised 50 adult crossbred cattle naturally infected
by Theileria annulata. Infected animals were divided into 4 subgroups with different parasitaemia (<1%, 1–3%, 3–5% and >5%). Study 2 comprised
20 adult crossbred cattle naturally infected by Anaplasma marginale. Infected animals were divided into 3 subgroups with different parasitaemia (<10%, 10–20% and 20–30%). In study 1, a significant
negative correlation (P < 0.001) was observed between parasitaemia and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Positive correlations (P < 0.001)
were observed between parasitaemia and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and mean corpuscular fragility (MCF). In study 2 positive
correlations (P < 0.05) were observed among parasitaemia and MCF and LDH activity. SOD activity had a negative correlation
with parasitaemia in cattle with parasitaemia lower than 10% but no significant correlation (P > 0.05) was observed between
SOD activity and parasitaemia in cattle with 10–20 and 20–30% parasitaemia. In comparison of both studies we came to the conclusion
that in theileriosis as the severity of disease increased the anaemia, MCF and LDH activity increased and SOD activity decreased
at any parasitaemia, but in anaplasmosis the anaemia, MCF and LDH activity increased at any parasitaemia but SOD activity
decreased only in early but not in advanced stages of disease. 相似文献
