Effects of various herbicides on mycelial growth of strains of Botrytis cinerea. Pers. and Pénicillium expansum Link, sensitive or resistant to certain fungicides Of seventy herbicides tested, thirty-eight were slightly toxic to B. cinerea (CI50, concentration giving 50% inhibition of the speed of mycelial growth, exceeding or equal to 100g of herbicide/ml of nutrient solution) and, of those, ten had no effect even at 1000 g/ml. The most active products (CI50 less than 10 g/ml) were Chlorthiamid, dichlobénil, nitrofen, propyzamide and phenolic derivatives (DNOC, ioxynil, PCP). In most cases P. expansum was less sensitive than B. cinerea except to endothal, propachlor, prynachlor and certain substituted ureas. Strains resistant to the benzimidazole fungicides (carbendazim, thiabendazole etc.) show increased sensitivity to certain carbamade herbicides (barban, chlorbufam etc.), this indicates the existence of a negative cross resistance between these groups of antimitotic pesticides. Strains resistant to the cyclic-imide fungicides (iprodionc, procymidone, vinclozolin) and to various aromatic compounds (biphenyl. chloroneb, dicloran etc.) may also be resistant to bipyridilium, dinitroanilinc and diphenylethcr herbicides, to chlorthamid. dichlobénil and oxadiazon. This cross resistance between pesticides with different biochemical modes of action has yet to be explained.  相似文献

SUMMARY Imidocarb diproprionate (IMDP) was used therapeutically at a dose of 1.2 mg IMDP/kg of body weight against Theileria sergenti infections in Hereford heifers on the island of Jeju-Do, Republic of Korea. In the first experiment IMDP was seen to be at least as effective in reducing T. sergenti parasitaemias as primaquine phosphate (primaquine), the drug normally used on the island. In the second and third experiments IMDP was shown to reduce T. sergenti parasitaemias by about 80%. No drug is known to be completely effective against T. sergenti infections but the suggestion is made that IMDP may be used in preference to primaquine for treatment of acutely ill animals since it also has the advantage of eliminating Babesia ovata, another element of the piroplasmosis syndrome on the island.  相似文献

In the first of two experiments performed, 29 animals were immunized by chemoprophylaxis against either a combination of three theilerial strains, Theileria parva (Muguga), T. parva (Kiambu 5) and T. lawrencei (Serengeti transformed), or against one or two elements of the combination separately, and then challenged with either T. parva (Kiambu 1) or T. lawrencei (Solio KB1), both of which were known to be heterologous to T. parva (Muguga). The animals immunized against the combination had mild or inapparent reactions to challenge, whilst the susceptible control cattle and many of those immunized against one or two strains either had severe reactions of died.In the second experiment, 17 cattle immunized by chemoprophylaxis against the combination were challenged with lethal doses of three theilerial strains, T. parva (Entebbe 1), T. parva (Entebbe 2) and T. parva (Ukunda), recently isolated from two widely separated areas of East Africa. They had mild or inapparent reactions whilst 13 of 15 susceptible control cattle died.Chemoprophylaxis using a combination of theilerial strains and a limited oxytetracycline regimen was shown to be an effective means of immunizing cattle against East African theilerioses. The use of this technique as a method of immunizing cattle before exposure in the field is proposed.  相似文献

Summary This paper describes the build-up of tick-borne blood parasites in a group of Hereford heifers imported from New Zealand to the island of Jeju Do, South Korea. All became infected withTheileria sergenti and half withBabesia bigemina. An attempt was made to contain the 2 parasites by treatment with either primaquine phosphate or imidocarb diproprionate. Both drugs had some prophylactic activity againstT. sergenti for at least 26 days and imidocarb diproprionate eliminatedB. bigemina. SinceT. sergenti infections built up subsequently in the animals it is suggested that repeated prophylaxis combined with regular acaricide treatment of imported cattle is necessary to keep piroplasmosis under control.

Resumen El trabajo describe la infectación progresiva con hematozoarios de un grupo de terneras Hereford importadas por Corea del Sur de Nueva Zelandia. Todas se infectaron conTheileria sergenti y la mitad conBabesia bigemina. Los animales se trataron con fosfato de primaquine o con dipropionato de imidocarb. Ambas drogas tuvieron actividad profiláctica contraT. sergenti durante 26 días y el imidocarb eliminóB. bigemina. Debido a que los animales se reinfectaron nuevamente conT. sergenti, se sugiere un régimen profiláctico continuado, combinándolo con baños garrapaticidas en ganado importado para controlar la piroplasmosis.

Résumé Cet article décrit le développement d'affections parasitaires sanguines transmises par les tiques dans un groupe de génisses importées de Nouvelle-Zélande en Corée du Sud. Tous les animaux ont été infectés parTheileria sergenti et la moitié parBabesia bigemina. Un essai a été fait pour contrôler ces deux parasites par des traitements avec du phosphate de primaquine ou du diproprionate d'imidocarbamide. Les deux produits ont eu une certaine activité pendant au moins 26 jours contreT. sergenti et l'imidocarbamide a éliminéBabesia bigemina. Les infections àTheileria sergenti ayant continué, il est suggéré qu'un régime répété de prophylaxie combiné avec un traitement acaricide des animaux importés est nécessire pour lutter efficacement contre les piroplasmoses.

As a result of a personal survey in 1982, interviewing veterinarians from Louis Trichardt to Uitenhage, it was concluded that bovine heartwater is currently regarded as the most serious tick-borne disease problem in South Africa. A combination of long-acting oxytetracycline and prednisolone is regarded as the most effective therapy. The disease is almost inevitable in unprotected young high-grade susceptible stock introduced into endemic areas such as the northern Transvaal and the Valley Bushveld of Natal and the Eastern Cape. A series of trials was conducted at Settlers, Pietermaritzburg and East London on farms representative of these areas and it was demonstrated that 4 injections of 20 mg/kg of long-acting oxytetracycline on Days 0, 7, 14 and 21 after introduction enabled such stock to be introduced without the disease occurring. A further trial was carried out on the Pietermaritzburg farm, where it was shown that the number of injections could be reduced to 3, on Days 7, 14 and 21 or Days 7, 12 and 17, or even 2 on Days 7 and 14. Two points need stressing. First, these results were obtained in areas of high heartwater endemicity. Second, in order to be confident that the regimen will be effective it is necessary to have acquired knowledge of the epidemiology of the disease at the farm. Thus in the 2nd year at Pietermaritzburg we were able to use a reduced treatment regime we knew the pattern of disease occurrence.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献
