Les rameaux musculaires distaux du nerf tibial chez le Boeuf (Bos taurus L.)

The distribution of the tibial nerve in the popliteal region has been determined on 30 dissections. With reference to the neurectomies as treatment for spastic paresis, the authors claim that it is possible to resect selectively the motor branches to the superficial digital flexor. They believe this would correct the condition, and at the same time reduce the effects of a more radical resection.

Etude en microscopie optique des poils (Pili) dela faune pyrénéene sauvage en vue de leur détermination

This study presents certain data on the hairs of forty species of pyrenean mammals in order to recognize them in the faeces of wild carnivores. Six orders have been considered, in which there are 37 wild species and 3 domestic ones. Samples were taken from the skin of Regio dorsocostalis, on adult animals, and examined by optic microscopy. Different kinds of hairs and their constitutive parts were measured and observed, and a classification established in accordance with previous works. New Nomina Anatomica are proposed. Specific diagnosis of hairs is more or less easy according to the group to which they belong.

No trace was found of the following muscles: M. plantaris, M. extensor hallucis longus, M. extensor hallucis brevis, M. flexor hallucis brevis, M. adductor d. II, M. abductor d. II, M. flexor phalangis secundi d. III and M. adductor d. IV. Some interesting myological and topographical peculiarities are specified concerning the 16 muscles mentioned, in order to provide useful findings for surgically applied purposes: in case of locomotor problems with leg deformities.     

Comparative and surgical anatomy of the calcaneal tendon in domestic mammals

The components of the common calcanean tendon were studied by dissection of ten limbs each of eight domestic mammalian species. The tendon of the bovine triceps surae muscle was found to consist of two distinct parts. This led to the suggestion, after examining the topography and trials on patients, to alter the tenotomy procedure (after Götze , 1932) for the treatment of spastic paresis.
