1. Three experiments were designed to determine the response of broiler chickens to dietary isoleucine, and to quantify the antagonistic effects of excess leucine and valine on this response. 2. A dilution technique was used to measure the responses in growth rate and food intake to a range of diets differing in their isoleucine concentrations. A summit diet was formulated to contain isoleucine at 1.14 times the requirement and with leucine (1.76 times the requirement) and valine (1.87 times the requirement) at the minimum possible concentrations, given the ingredients available. A dilution mixture, devoid of protein, was formulated to correspond in all respects, other than in amino acid content, to the summit diet. These two basal diets were blended in different proportions to give a range of diets of decreasing isoleucine and protein content. 3. In experiment 1 the response was measured to isoleucine with leucine and valine remaining in the same proportion to isoleucine throughout the range of diets fed. In experiments 2 and 3, however, L-leucine and L-valine were added to the diets either singly or in combination to give 6 isoleucine concentrations and 3 ratios of each of leucine and valine to isoleucine. 4. Weight gain decreased as the isoleucine content of the diet was reduced, whereas food intake of broilers fed on the marginally deficient diets increased to a maximum and then decreased. FCE decreased curvilinearly as the isoleucine concentration in the food decreased, reflecting a concomitant change in the fat content of the broilers. 5. It is possible that the amount of dietary isoleucine assumed to be available to the broilers in these experiments was overestimated by hydrolysing the food samples for 72 h, and the doubt thus created makes an estimate of the efficiency of retention of isoleucine suspect. 6. Excess valine had no effect on the response to isoleucine, whereas an increase in the leucine to isoleucine ratio depressed food intake and hence weight gain, but only at the lowest concentrations of isoleucine. 7. 【目的】研究不同栽培模式和施氮量对半旱地栽培条件下冬小麦-夏玉米轮作体系中冬小麦地上部氮素累积、分配及利用效率的影响。【方法】在陕西关中地区进行了田间试验,以常规栽培为对照,比较了补灌、覆草和垄沟等栽培模式及0,120,240 kg/hm2施氮水平,对冬小麦连续2年(2004和2005年)不同生长期各部位氮素累积量的影响。【结果】在补灌模式下,2004和2005年成熟期冬小麦叶片和茎秆的氮素累积量较其他模式低,氮素分配率也较低,而籽粒的氮素分配率较高;施用氮肥显著增加了各生长时期冬小麦叶片、茎秆、颖壳和穗轴以及籽粒的氮素累积量,当氮肥施用量由120增加到240 kg/hm2时,除籽粒外,成熟期冬小麦叶片、茎秆、颖壳和穗轴的氮素残留量均随之明显增加。与不同栽培模式相比,施用氮肥对冬小麦不同器官中氮素分配的影响较小。随着氮肥施用量的增加,氮肥利用效率、氮肥农学效率和氮肥生理效率均呈降低趋势。在不同栽培模式中,连续2年补灌栽培模式下冬小麦的氮肥利用效率、氮肥农学效率以及氮肥生理效率均较高,而其他栽培模式下这3个指标年际间的变化较大。【结论】施用氮肥可显著增加冬小麦各生长时期不同器官的氮素累积量,但对氮素在不同器官中分配比例的影响较小;与施用氮肥相比,不同栽培模式对冬小麦氮素的累积、分布无明显影响;冬季补灌有利于提高冬小麦的氮素效率。 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether vaccine site-associated sarcomas (VSS) from cats contain polyomavirus antigen or DNA. SAMPLE POPULATION: 50 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks of VSS from cats. PROCEDURE: Sections from each tissue block were evaluated for polyomavirus antigen by use of an avidin-biotin-complex immunohistochemical staining method, using rabbit anti-murine polyomavirus polyclonal antiserum as the primary antibody. The DNA was extracted from sections of each tissue block, and a polymerase chain reaction assay was performed, using primers designed to amplify regions of the bovine polyomavirus genome and consensus polyomavirus primers designed to detect unknown polyomaviruses. RESULTS: Polyomavirus antigen and DNA were not detected in any of the VSS. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Results suggest that polyomaviruses likely do not have any direct involvement in the pathogenesis of VSS in cats. 相似文献

Abstract. In south-east England, no relation between cereal yield and soil depth is shown by field estimates or harvesting microplots with depths to compact chalk of 23–121 cm. Differences in yield of ryegrass and wheat grown in cylinders containing artificial profiles with different thicknesses of topsoil, subsoil, chalk rubble and clean chalk from the Panholes series on Middle Chalk were attributed almost entirely to different amounts of nutrients. Chalk fragments supplied about 20% by weight of moisture to plants, and topsoil and subsoil about twice as much. Laboratory studies confirmed that fragments of Middle Chalk from near Wye (Kent, UK) hold about 20% water under tensions between 30 and 1500 kPa, but showed that topsoil and subsoil hold slightly less than this. The discrepancy in estimating water holding capacity arises because profiles over compact chalk drain only slowly from saturation. In this wet state they are very vulnerable to water erosion. It was also observed that ryegrass roots under water stress can penetrate well rammed chalk rubble, and that substantial amounts of water can rise 20 cm through solid chalk within a few days. It is concluded that soil losses resulting from erosion over normal porous chalks diminish cereal yields only slightly provided nutrient levels are maintained. 相似文献
