A long‐term experiment was conducted in sea cages to compare three experimental extruded pellet (EP) diets with a raw fish moist pellet (MP) diet for Korean rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli (Hilgendorf). White fishmeal (WFM), soybean meal (SM) and fishmeal analogue (BAIFA‐M?)‐based experimental EP diets were formulated to be isonitrogenous and isocaloric with 50% crude protein (CP) with available energy of 16.7 kJ g?1 diet. An MP diet made of 80% frozen horse mackerel + 20% commercial binder meal was also included in the experiment. The proportions of the major protein ingredients in three experimental EP diets were as follows: WFM diet, 100% WFM; SM diet, 70% WFM + 30% SM; BAIFA‐M? diet, 70% WFM + 30% BAIFA‐M?. The experiment was divided into three periods according to fish size: period I, initial weight of 20.2 ± 3.6 g (mean ± SD); period II, initial weight of 57.6 ± 4.7 g (mean ± SD); period III, initial weight of 96.3 ± 6.9 g (mean ± SD). There were no significant differences in weight gain, feed efficiency ratio, thermal‐unit growth coefficient, specific growth rate, haemoglobin, or haematocrit among fish that were fed the four diets during all three periods. However, fish that were fed the MP diet had a lower survival rate than the fish that were fed the other three EP diets for all periods. These results strongly suggest that EP diets could be developed to replace MP diet for the grow‐out stage of production of Korean rockfish without adverse effects on growth performance.  相似文献

The olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus is one of the most commercially important fish species in Korea. In order to formulate better diets for cultured olive flounder we evaluated the optimum dietary protein requirements for larval, fry and juvenile olive flounder, and the optimum dietary protein to energy ratio for juvenile olive flounder. Results of four separate experiments suggested that the optimum dietary protein requirements were 60% in larvae (0.3 g), 46.4–51.2% in 4.1-g juvenile, and 40–44% in 13.3 g growing olive flounder. The optimum dietary protein to energy ratio based on weight gain, feed efficiency, specific growth rate, and protein retention efficiency was 27–28 mg protein/kJ 2 energy (35 and 45% CP for diets containing 12.5 and 16.7 kJ energylg diet, respectively).  相似文献

Oxidative stress is an automatic mechanism responsible for the commencement and continuance of liver injury. In this study, an antioxidative peptide Val-Thr-Ala-Leu (VTAL) was purified from simulated gastrointestinal digestion of protein hydrolysates of the triploid oyster Magallana gigas. Significant antioxidant activity was identified, as well as a protective effect against acetaminophen (APAP)-induced human liver cancer (HepG2) cells. The results suggested that the antioxidant activity improved in a dose-dependent manner. The highest cell viability (88.105?±?3.62%) was observed in 15 mM APAP-induced cells when treated with 25 μg/mL M. gigas peptide [M.g (pep)]. The peptide sequences include hydrophobic amino acids, which could be responsible for its chemoprotective and antioxidant activities. Treatment with M.g (pep) significantly promoted the proliferation of HepG2 cells, thus protecting them against APAP and imbuing them with significant antioxidant capacity. M.g (pep) could be beneficial for treating drug-induced oxidative stress and liver damage. Additionally, M.g (pep) could serve as an alternative to synthetic antioxidant drugs.

We evaluated the effects of diets incorporating the red algae Pyropia yezoensis, prepared by several different extraction methods, on the growth of juvenile Japanese flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. We assessed growth performance, as well as the levels of amino acids, fatty acids, insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) and interleukins (ILs). Four experimental diets were developed based on different methods of processing P. yezoensis. A commercial feed, laver powder (P), high-pressure heat extraction of laver (HPHE) and acid hydrolysis extraction of laver were used as the experimental diets. Three experimental replicates were established for each diet (40 fish/group, body weight 123.7 ± 1.1 g), and the fish were fed for 6 weeks. We found no significant differences in weight gain, specific growth rate or feeding efficiency among the groups (P > 0.05); however, the fish fed HPHE had the greatest growth performance. Fish fed the laver extracts exhibited the highest protein efficiency ratio compared with the control and P groups. The experimental groups fed P. yezoensis extracts had significantly higher levels of IGF-I (P < 0.05) than those of the control group. High levels of IL-2 were found in the P and HPHE groups, IL-12 in the HPHE group, and IL-6 in all experimental groups. Therefore, these results suggest that a P. yezoensis extract improved the growth performance and immunity of Japanese flounder. In particular, the high-pressure heating process was a useful extraction method for preparing a P. yezoensis extract, which had beneficial effects as a dietary supplement in Japanese flounder.  相似文献
