Microsporidia in dogs and cats is primarily caused by the obligate, intracellular parasite Encephalitozoon cuniculi, which is a member of the phylum Microsporidia. The aim of the current study is the detection of this parasite in stool samples of small animals of Iran, by polymerase chain reaction. Microsporidia spp. was found in 31% (31/100) of dogs (E. cuniculi (18/100), Encephalitozoon bieneusi (8/100) and Encephalitozoon intestinalis (5/100)), and 7.5% (3/40) of the specimens obtained from cats were infected with E. bieneusi. Sequencing of PCR products confirmed these results. In conclusion, Microsporidia infection seems to be fairly common in pet animals of Iran, especially in dogs. This finding could indicate the importance of pet animals as zoonotic reservoirs of microsporidial human infections.  相似文献

During summer of 2015, Eucalyptus camaldulensis plants showing witches’ broom, little leaf and general yellowing of the foliage were observed in west of Fars and Khozestan province of Iran. DNA from samples of 22 symptomatic and two asymptomatic trees was extracted and subjected to molecular analyses. Nested‐PCR test using R16F2n/R16R2 primers confirmed phytoplasma presence in 63% of symptomatic Eucalyptus plants. Sequence analysis along with virtual RFLP of the 16S ribosomal DNA allowed to classify three Eucalyptus witches’ broom strains into the “stolbur” (“Candidatus phytoplasma solani”) 16SrXII‐A subgroup. Comparison of the secA and secY gene sequences with sequences deposited in GenBank confirmed the phytoplasma identity. Real and virtual RFLPs of the amplified secY gene using HaeIII, MseI and RsaI restriction enzymes showed profiles indistinguishable from each other. This is the first study reporting E. camaldulensis as a new host species for “Ca. P. solani.”  相似文献

Helicobacter‐like organisms are frequently found in canine stomachs, but the relationship between such organisms and gastric pathology has not been established. However, some such organisms have zoonotic importance. The aims of this study were to evaluate the morphological and biochemical characteristics of cultivable canine gastric Helicobacter‐like organisms (GHLOs) in pets and stray dogs and their prevalence in these two groups of dogs. Specimens were taken by gastroscopy from 30 clinically healthy stray dogs and 30 pet dogs. Cultures were positive from biopsies of 11/30 of stray and 6/30 of pet dogs. The isolated Helicobacters were observed by light microscopy and studied by biochemical, physiological and PCR analysis. Some of the isolated GHLO's displayed atypical shapes that were similar to Helicobacter pylori or Helicobacter acinonychis in stray dogs’ cytological examinations. They had 2–3 helices and were smaller than other canine GHLOs. One of these atypical Helicobacter strains was cultured. It was not possible to distinguish such strains by routine PCR and biochemical evaluations. Electron microscopy showed a smaller Helicobacter (2 μm in length) with 2 or 3 helixes. This study demonstrates that not all canine gastric Helicobacters are 5–15 μm in length, as has been previously proposed, and portrays the need for further investigation of canine GHLOs.  相似文献

Mass flux assessment can provide information that is essential for a sustainable management of elements in agricultural soils. In this article, we present an assessment of regional-scale averages of zinc (Zn) fluxes into agricultural soils and crops of central Iran for the period 1997–2011, using available databases such as regional agricultural statistics. The basic units of the balances were 15 townships of the provinces Qom, Isfahan and Fars. Averaged over the entire study region, the net Zn input into arable soil resulting from all fertilizer inputs – Zn removal with harvested crops was 1515 g ha?1 yr?1 across the entire region, with a range of 438–3009 g ha?1 yr?1 among townships. Estimated average Zn inputs with manure, mineral fertilizers, sewage sludge and compost were 1254, 531, 19 and 7 g ha?1 yr?1, respectively. The input-to-output ratio of these fluxes ranged from 1.8 to 12.9 among townships and averaged 6.1 for the entire study area. Considering that outputs other than with crop harvests are minor, Zn stocks are rapidly building up in the soils of the study region. Uncertainties in the manure and crop removal data were the main sources of estimation uncertainty in this study.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of chronic gastritis in pet dogs, to determine the histopathologic changes of gastric mucosa and, to determine its relationship with canine gastric Helicobacter infection. Sixty percent (n = 18), 27% (n = 8) and 13% (n = 4) of the examined stomachs showed normal, congested and erosive gastric mucosa respectively. Histopathologic examination was confirmed the presence of chronic gastritis in 40% of dogs (n = 12). Lymphocytic-plasmacytic gastritis was the most common type of chronic gastritis. Gastric Helicobacter was detected in cytological examination of 26 out of 30 dogs (86.6%) but in the PCR analysis, 93% of gastric samples were positive for GHLO. There was no significant relation between the presence of Helicobacters and chronic gastritis (p>0.05). Follicular gastritis was detected in 12 cases (40%) and there was also no significant correlation between its presence and GHLO's infection (p>0.05). In conclusion, chronic gastritis can be considered as a prevalent disease especially in dogs. Nutritional and environmental factors as well as individual immune response may have role in induction of chronic gastritis, but the clinical significance of these histopathologic changes should be evaluated.  相似文献

It has been shown through various experimental works that the geometry of woven fabrics will change after it is released from looms due to the contraction forces resulting in changed structural geometry in their fully relaxed state. In this work, an appropriate three dimensional unit cell is proposed for 2/2 twill woven structure. The proposed model covers all angles and lengths between warp and weft yarns in the three dimensional unit cell of the structure in its fully relaxed state assuming straight line path and circular cross-section of yarns. At first, a theoretical solution for estimation of skewness angle in float region of 2/2 twill fabrics is proposed by defining the JJ ratio index to consider different amount of contraction in float and crimp region of unit cell. Then the proposed theory is extended to include the weave and skewness angle of yarns in crimp region of woven structures. By applying this theory, the skewness angle of 2/2 twill weaves will be incorporated in structural modelling of woven fabrics which can be used in predicting the thickness and areal mass of the 2/2 twill woven structures. Besides the confirmed validation of model in predicting the areal mass, the results for estimating the thickness of fabrics are in close agreement with the measured ones in the fabrics with worsted and coarse cotton yarns.  相似文献
