The savannah of central Brazil occupies 208 million ha, of which about 54 million ha have been converted to cultivated pasture. The aim of this study was to provide the dynamics of evapotranspiration (ET) in a Brachiaria brizantha cultivated pasture in the Brazilian Savannah region at the beginning of the rainy season and determine biological and environmental factors that influence ET by using the decoupling approach. A meteorological station and an eddy covariance system were placed at the studied site. The above‐ground biomass production of the B. brizantha pasture responded rapidly to the onset of the rainy season. Leaf area index (LAI) increased from 0·4 to 1·1 between 15 November and 3 December, with a corresponding increase in live biomass. Average ET during the study period was 2·6 ± 0·9 mm. Daily ET was significantly correlated with maximum vapour pressure deficit and precipitation. The average of daytime decoupling factor obtained over 2 d without rain was 0·50 ± 0·06. The B. brizantha pasture deployed in this region showed an intermediate coupling which takes ET to be influenced by both atmospheric conditions and by the available radiation at the canopy.  相似文献

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) represents the most common genital malignant tumor in horses. Similar to humans, papillomaviruses (PVs) have been proposed as etiological agents and recently Equine papillomavirus type 2 (EcPV2) has been identified in a subset of genital SCCs. The goals of this study were (1) to determine the prevalence of EcPV2 DNA in tissue samples from equine genital SCCs, penile intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and penile papillomas, using EcPV2-specific PCR, (2) to examine the prevalence of latent EcPV2 infection in healthy genital mucosa and (3) to determine genetic variability within EcPV2 and to disentangle phylogenetic relationships of EcPV2 among PVs. EcPV2 DNA was detected in all but one penile SCC (15/16), in all PIN lesions (8/8) and penile papillomas (4/4). Additionally, EcPV2 DNA was demonstrated in one of two metastasized lymph nodes, one contact metastasis in the mouth, two vaginal and one anal lesion. In healthy horses, EcPV2 DNA was detected in 10% (4/39) of penile swabs but in none of vulvovaginal swabs (0/20). This study confirms the presence of EcPV2 DNA in equine genital SCCs and shows its involvement in anal lesions, a lymph node and contact metastases. Latent EcPV2 presence was also shown in normal male genital mucosa. We found that different EcPV2 variants cocirculate among horses and that EcPV2 is related to the Delta+Zeta PVs and is only a very distant relative of high-risk human PVs causing genital cancer. Thus, similar viral tropism and similar malignant outcome of the infection do not imply close evolutionary relationship.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Response surface methodology was used to assess the effects of brine concentration (0.1127–0.2473 g NaCl/g), salting time (49–271 min), smoking temperature (53.2–86.8°C), and smoking time (216–384 min) on moisture content, salt content, yield, taste preference, and texture preference of smoked catfish slices. Optimal process conditions were determined through the graphical method and desirability function approach. The desirability function showed that the optimal conditions for salting and smoking of catfish were: smoking temperature, 70°C; smoking time, 300 min; salting time, varying from 193.39 to 194.68 min; and brine concentration varying from 0.1791 to 0.1797 g NaCl/g. Under optimal conditions, moisture content, salt content, yield, taste preference, and texture preference of smoked catfish were 0.53 g water/g, 0.064 g NaCl/g, 58%, 3.7, and 3.7, respectively.  相似文献

In this study we analyzed the effect of silviculture on carbon (C) budgets in Pinus elliottii (slash pine) plantations on the southeastern U.S. Coastal Plain. We developed a hybrid model that integrates a widely used growth and yield model for slash pine with allometric and biometric equations determined for long-term C exchange studies to simulate in situ C pools. The model used current values of forest product conversion efficiencies and forest product decay rates to calculate ex situ C pool. The model was validated from a variety of sources, accurately simulating C estimates based on multiple measurement techniques and sites. Site productivity was the major factor driving C sequestration in slash pine stands. On high productivity sites, silvicultural schemes that promote sawtimber-type products are more suitable for increasing C storage (even not taking in account the consequent economical revenues associated with sawtimber production). When rotation length was increased from 22 to 35 years on unthinned and thinned stands, respectively, we estimated net increments of 26 and 20 MgC ha−1 in average C stock of the first five rotations. Even though in situ C pool in slash pine accounts for most of this net increment, C in sawtimber products increased from 8 and 14 to 23 and 24 MgC ha−1, on unthinned and thinned stands, respectively. Thinning effects on net C stock depended on intensity and timing of intervention, mainly due to changes in diameter classes that promote higher proportion of long-lived products. Emissions associated with silvicultural activities, including transportation of logs to the mill, are small compared to the magnitude of net C sequestration, accounting for between 2.2 and 2.3% of gross C stock. This slash pine plantation C sequestration model, based on empirical and biological relationships, is appropriate for use in regional C stock assessments or for C credit verification.  相似文献
