Hyper-spectral remote sensing to monitor vegetation stress   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Background, aim, and scope  Vegetation stress diagnoses based on plant sampling and physiochemical analysis using traditional methods are commonly time-consuming, destructive and expensive. The measurement of field spectral reflectance is one basis of airborne or spaceborne remote sensing monitoring. Materials and methods  In this study, paddy plants were grown in the barrels evenly filled with 10.0 kg soil that was mixed respectively with 0, 2.5 × 207.2 and 5.0 × 207.2 mg Pb per 1,000 g soil. Rice canopy spectra were gathered by mobile hyper-spectral radiometer (ASD FieldSpec Pro FR, USA). Meanwhile, canopy leaves in the field-of-view (FOV) of spectroradiometer were collected and then prepared in the laboratory, (1) for chlorophyll measurement by Model 721 spectrophotometer, and (2) for Pb determination by atomic absorption spectrophotometer (SpectraAA-220FS). Results and discussion  Canopy spectral reflectance in the region of visible-to-near-infrared light (VNIR) increased, because ascended Pb concentration caused the decrease of canopy chlorophyll content. In the agro-ecosystem, however, heavy metal contamination is presented typically as mixture and their interactions strongly affect actually occurring effects. Normalized spectral absorption depth (D n), and shifting distance (DS) of red edge position (REPs) revealed the differences in Pb concentration for canopy leaves, especially at the early tillering stage. Due to insufficient biomass of rice plants, the 30th day was not reliable enough for the selection of crucial growth stages. Some special sensitive bands might be omitted at the same time because of limited sample sets. Conclusions  Our initial experiments are still too few in the amounts of both metals and plants neither to build accurate prediction models nor to discuss the transformation from ground to air/spaceborne remote sensing. However, we are pleased to communicate that ground remote sensing measurements would provide reliable information for the estimation of Pb concentration in rice plants at the early tillering stage when proper features (such as DS and D n) of reflectance spectra are applied. Recommendations and perspectives  Hyper-spectral remote sensing is a potential and promising technology for monitoring environmental stresses on agricultural vegetation. Further ground remote sensing experiments are necessary to evaluate the possibility of hyper-spectral reflectance spectroscopy in monitoring different kinds of metals’ stress on various plants.  相似文献

Abstract

Besides supplying calcium (Ca) and sulfur (S) to plants, gypsum has recently been used in agriculture to ameliorate some soil physical and chemical properties, especially to alleviate aluminum phytotoxicity in subsoils. When applied in large quantities, however, gypsum may leach significant amounts of nutrients from the plow layer. This study was conducted to assess the effect of gypsum addition to the soil on the magnitude of cation leaching as well as the relationship of leaching with some soil properties in a group of seven Brazilian soils. Rates of gypsum equivalents to 0, 5.0, 10, and 20 t ha?1 (0, 2.5, 5.0, and 10 g kg?1) were mixed with triplicate soil samples consisting of 3.0 kg of dry base soil. After 60 days of incubation at room temperature (15–25°C), the experimental units were packed into polyvinyl chloride leaching columns (32‐cm‐high×10 -cm-diameter) at a density of 0.9 g cm?3. Thereafter, they were percolated once a week with a volume of distilled water equivalent to 1.5 times the total soil porosity over 11 weeks. Soil samples were collected before the first and after the last percolation, for chemical analysis. Averaged across soils, 11 percolation events leached about 26% of each Ca, magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K) from the treatment without gypsum. Averaged across soils and rates, addition of gypsum leached 41–94% of added Ca, 13–90% of exchangeable Mg, and 13–58% of exchangeable K, and the highest losses occurred on the sandiest soils. The relationship between soil parameters and Ca leaching varied with gypsum rate: in the treatments that received gypsum, leaching was negatively related to cation exchange capacity (CEC), clay, and organic matter, and positively correlated with sand; in the treatment with no gypsum, leaching correlated with the same parameters above, nevertheless, all coefficients presented opposite signs. Leaching of K caused by gypsum was negatively associated with clay and positively with sand, whereas leaching of Mg was poorly correlated with any soil parameter. Gypsum is a good source to promote high and fast downward movement of Ca in the soil profile, but rates must be cautiously chosen because of excessive leaching of Mg especially on soils with low CEC.  相似文献

Abstract

Australia's reef water quality protection plan has a key objective: “reduce the load of pollutants from diffuse sources in the water entering the Reef.” This article reports on a survey to assess the contemporary phosphorus (P) status of fertilized cropping soils across 21 catchments in coastal Queensland, Australia. The survey focused on surface soils from cane farms, vegetable and subtropical/tropical fruit tree sites. There were sampling depth effects on P levels in sugar and fruit tree sites (lower with depth). Importantly, 84% of 105 sugarcane sites were excessively fertile and only 3% rated low (P deficient). Some 75% of 16 vegetable sites and 38% of 8 fruit tree sites had excess ratings for extractable soil P fertility. Highest total P levels (0–10 cm) occurred in fruit tree sites, followed by vegetable and sugarcane soils. There are regional differences in P soil fertility, and the recycling of mill by‐products needs attention. Part 2 (Bloesch and Rayment 2006 Bloesch, P. M. and Rayment, G. Abstract

In a relationship between the grain yields and concentrations of a nutrient element at a well defined stage of development under varying growing conditions, i.e. 2.0 g Dry Matter weight (DMw) per hill, the boundary line concept dictates that the grain yield corresponding to the points along the boundary of data points is predominantly determined by the varying concentrations of the respective nutrient element. These concentrations, defined as “Pure‐effect Concentrations,”; form the bases to develop the pure‐effect yield curves. Pure‐effect yield curves were developed for N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Na. The absolutely optimal concentrations or absolute reference values, i.e. the concentrations of various nutrient elements at 2.0 g DMw level corresponding to maximum grain yield, were found to be 3.3% N, 0.36% P, 3.9% K, 1.3% Ca, 0.25% Mg and 0.03% Na.

The relationships were developed between the concentrations of other nutrient elements corresponding to pure‐effect concentrations of a nutrient element in question in all combinations by treating each nutrient element as pure‐effect nutrient at a time. These relationships enable one to determine the varying optimal concentrations of other nutrient elements corresponding to the concentrations of the pure‐effect nutrient. These concentrations are defined as “Relatively Optimal Concentrations”; or “Relative Reference Values.”;

The absolute and relative reference values are the bases for developing the diagnosis and yield prognosis models which can be used to evaluate the nutritional status of lowland rice plants and to predict the grain yield based on the elemental composition of plants at 2.0 g DMw per hill. The procedure for the application of diagnosis and yield prognosis models is demonstrated. A very good agreement was found between the grain yield predicted by using these models and the actual yields, thus indicating a high degree of accuracy in predicting the grain yield.  相似文献

Substituted glycopyranosides were applied to various plant species as foliar and root treatments, with and without nutrient supplements, and growth was compared to untreated or nutrient controls. When formulated with specific fertilizers, particularly available nitrogen, methyl and ethyl glycopyranosides significantly enhanced the overall growth of vascular plants compared to controls provided with the same nutrients. In contrast, vascular plants treated with alkylglycopyranosides without nutrients showed growth equivalent to that of untreated controls. Nitrogen-supplemented alkylglycopyranosides provided as foliar applications of 100 mM, or as root treatments between 35 and 50 mM, consistently enhanced root and shoot productivity. In addition to the vascular plant species tested, the brown alga Laminaria saccharina exhibited significant growth enhancement over nutrient controls when treated with alkylglycopyranosides supplemented with nutrients, especially under low irradiance. Overall, these results indicate that growth of photosynthetic organisms is enhanced by exogenous alkylglycopyranosides supplemented with nitrogen and micronutrients, but not by alkylglycopyranosides alone.  相似文献

Abstract

In two field trial series different planting techniques, used to alter soil conditions at planting time, and rates of seed infection with netted scab were compared regarding their effects on plant development, yield, tuber size distribution and the prevalence of netted scab in the progeny. A greenhouse pot experiment was also carried out to study the influence of soil contamination and infection of seed with the netted scab organism on the prevalence of netted scab in the progeny. Both seed infection and planting technique affected the progeny tuber infection with netted scab. Seed infection also negatively influenced plant development and yield. It is concluded that seed infection affects plant development and yield more than soil contamination does, whereas soil contamination is more an important source of progeny tuber infection.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Poor water management and high nitrogen (N) losses are the key problems faced by rice farmers under rainfed inland valley systems. There is a need to evaluate different N fertilizers so as to identify one that could withstand these problems. The performance of polyolefin-coated urea (POCU) was therefore compared with conventional urea in a pot experiment with indica rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. IR36), using two water management systems: 1) Submerged condition referred to as good water management (GWM), and 2) excessive irrigation (over 4000 mm in 120 days) referred to as poor water management (PWM). The study was carried out during 1997 and 1998 cropping seasons under glasshouse conditions. For PWM in 1997, the pots were subjected to leaching only whereas in 1998, they were subjected to both surface runoff and leaching. For both cropping seasons, POCU-treated plants under PWM had a significantly higher grain yield (377.5 and 343.0 g m?2) than urea-treated plants (316.5 and 260.5 g m?2). In addition, POCU-treated plants had a significantly higher number of grains per panicle than urea-treated plants. In 1998, both the partial factor productivity of applied N and the agronomic nitrogen-use efficiency of POCU-treated plants under GWM and PWM were significantly higher than those of urea-treated plants. It can be inferred that (using sandy soils and under PWM), POCU could perform significantly better than conventional urea. This finding is important, considering the usually high nitrogen losses in rice-growing inland valley swamps.  相似文献

明确松嫩平原黑土区畜禽粪肥品质差异,可为其质量提升及合理施用提供理论依据。本研究于黑龙江省松嫩平原黑土区采集猪粪、牛粪、羊粪和鸡粪4种堆肥样品67个,通过测定不同种类畜禽粪肥技术指标、限量指标及有机组分含量,建立畜禽粪肥质量综合得分模型,从而对其质量进行评价。结果表明:(1)猪粪肥、牛粪肥、羊粪肥和鸡粪肥的平均种子发芽指数(GI)分别为44.1%、57.0%、51.9%和41.4%,均接近或大于50%的畜禽粪肥无害化要求,但小于有机肥NY/T525-2021标准70%的要求;(2)4种畜禽粪肥中,牛粪肥各项指标都更接近于NY/T525-2021标准要求,且牛粪肥中较活跃的有机组分可溶性有机质(DOM)、可提取腐殖酸(HE)、胡敏酸(HA)、富里酸(FA)含量均高于其他3种;(3)在畜禽粪肥质量评价综合得分模型中,牛粪肥获得最高得分0.834,其它粪肥得分依次为:羊粪肥0.761、猪粪肥0.732、鸡粪肥0.508。总体来看,4种畜禽粪肥的腐熟度仍需进一步提高,其综合质量排序为:牛粪肥 > 羊粪肥 > 猪粪肥 > 鸡粪肥。

利用福建省67个国家气象观测站1971−2020年气象资料以及地理信息资料、两系杂交稻制种基地调查资料,构建了两系杂交稻制种育性转换敏感期气候风险模型与风险等级指标、扬花授粉期天气综合危害指数模型与等级指标两个安全期气候区划指标,选择不育系育性转换起点温度23℃开展研究,基于两系杂交稻制种气候适宜性分区等级标准,采用多层复合方法,开展基于GIS的福建省两系杂交稻制种安全高产精细气候适宜性区划。结果表明:育性敏感期安排在7月上旬−下旬、7月中旬−8月上旬,扬花授粉期安排在8月上旬−中旬,适宜区分布在福建北部、西南部等县市海拔300m以下的区域,次适宜区分布在福建北部、西南部等县市海拔300−500m的区域;育性敏感期安排在7月下旬−8月中旬、8月上旬−下旬,扬花授粉期8月下旬−9月上旬,适宜区分布在福建北部、西南部等县市海拔400m以下的区域,次适宜区分布在福建北部、西南部等县市海拔400−500m的区域;育性敏感期安排在7月上旬−8月下旬,扬花授粉期安排在8月上旬−9月上旬,低适宜区分布在海拔500−1000m的区域,不适宜区分布在海拔1000m以上区域。  相似文献
