The extent of lipid oxidation and retention of omega (ω)-3 fatty acids in milk protein concentrate (MPC)-added mackerel and salmon mince and nuggets during 4-months frozen storage were investigated in order to develop high ω-3 seafood products. Mechanically deboned fish mince formulated with MPC and other ingredients was formed into batter-breaded nuggets with or without par-frying. The addition of MPC at 4% resulted in significantly lower thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) values and helped retain significantly (p < 0.05) higher amounts of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in both salmon and mackerel mince and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in the mackerel mince. There were no significant differences in peroxide values (PV) and TBARS values between nugget products with and without par-frying. EPA and DHA were retained less in par-fried than raw nuggets probably due to oil leaching and thermal degradation during frying. The reductions of EPA and DHA in salmon were 67% and 53% for raw and 57% and 39% for par-fried nuggets, while in mackerel they were 63% and 73% for raw and 57% and 56% for par-fried nuggets, respectively. Results suggest that although MPC provided some protection against lipid oxidation, additional measures are needed to improve retention of ω-3 fatty acids in mince-based seafood products during frozen storage. 相似文献

Mud spiny lobsters, Panulirus polyphagus (Herbst, 1793), were reared at four different stocking sizes and stocking densities in open sea cages to evaluate their effects on growth performance. To evaluate the effect of stocking size on the growth performance, the lobsters were segregated into four different treatment groups according to size and were stocked at a density of 300 animals per cage. To evaluate the effect of stocking density on the growth performance, lobsters of 81–100 g were stocked in four different stocking densities, i.e. 16/m2, 24/m2, 32/m2 and 40/m2. The results showed that the growth rate of (60–80 g) size group, was significantly higher compared to the size groups, i.e. 101–120 g and 121–140 g comprising of larger individuals. The final body weight, though significantly higher in 81–100 g as compared to 60–80 g, the growth performance (i.e. weight gain percentage (WG %) and specific growth rate (SGR)) were not significantly different. The density‐dependent influence on growth performance was evident in this study. The WG % and SGR during 90 days’ culture period was significantly higher in 24/m2 compared to other groups. This study provides crucial information about the appropriate stocking density and stocking size of lobsters at the field level, which would help to promote sustainable lobster cage farming by maximizing the production potential of the system. 相似文献

[目的]调查广西南宁巨尾桉(DH32-28)植苗林各调查因子间的关系。[方法]对在广西南宁树木园新塘和横县林区内生长正常的巨尾桉(DH32-28)植苗林进行调查,分别测定每株树的胸径、树高、年龄等树木调查因子,并对其相关性进行分析,建立胸径与造林时间、树高与造林时间、胸径与树高等因子之间的一系列数学模型,并进行模型的实用性和精度检验。[结果]胸径、树高与造林时间的对数函数关系比较密切,树高与胸径的二次函数模型关系比较密切。胸径与造林时间的关系可以用对数函数模型y=-3.310+4.132lnx来反映,树高与造林时间的关系可以用对数函数模型y=-15.881+8.816lnx来反映,胸径与树高的关系可以用二次函数模型y=0.635+0.822x+0.042x~2来反映。[结论]模型揭示了广西南宁巨尾桉(DH32-28)植苗林各调查因子之间的生长规律性,同时还可以用于桉树人工林林分生长预估中单株树木潜在的生长分析,对桉树人工林的可持续经营利用和森林生态系统恢复具有一定的指导意义。 相似文献

Eastern little tuna (ELT, Euthynnus affinis) is expected to see use as a novel aquaculture species due to its rapid growth and high economic value. In this study, closing of the complete life cycle of ELT in land‐based tanks was successfully carried out. Seed production of a first generation (F1) derived from wild‐caught ELT broodstock was conducted in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Survival percentages of F1 ELT at 365 days post hatching for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 year classes were 0.9%, 0.4% and 6.3% respectively. On average, F1 ELT were approximately 40 cm in total length and weighed 1500 g by the time they reached 1 year of age. Successful artificial induction of spawning was achieved in 1‐year‐old F1 ELT using a gonadotropin‐releasing hormone analogue (GnRHa). Induction of spawning was successful at the first administration of GnRHa in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 year classes. First spawning was observed at 4 or 5 days post implantation, which indicated that oogenesis and spermatogenesis progressed within 1 year of rearing in land‐based tanks. During spawning periods, the average number of fertilized eggs and the average number of hatched larvae per spawning event in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 year classes were 20,480 eggs day?1 and 177 larvae day?1, 39,423 eggs day?1 and 9347 larvae day?1, and 819,555 eggs day?1 and 674,445 larvae day?1 respectively. Sustainable and profitable commercial aquaculture production of marine fish species is dependent on the development of sustainable protein sources as substitutes for expensive animal meals such as fishmeal (FM). Previous Florida pompano Trachinotus carolinus studies have indicated that poultry by‐product meal (PBM) and meat and bone meal can be used to produce a FM‐free diet if suitable levels of nutrients (such as taurine) are included in the diets. In this study, we attempted to develop an all‐plant protein diet by removing the animal proteins in practical diets for pompano by substituting back select ingredients. A series of eight FM‐free diets were formulated, four systematically replaced soybean meal (SBM) with soy protein concentrate (SPC) and four replaced PBM with SPC. Based on the results, there is no clear disadvantage to the use of SPC as a replacement for SBM. However, the complete removal of PBM resulted in reduced performance. Two additional growth trials were conducted to supplement additional amino acids including glycine, valine and histidine, a proprietary chemical attractant mix, fish protein concentrate and squid hydrolysate to improve the growth of pompano when fed all‐plant protein diets. The only improvement in performance occurred with the squid hydrolysate. These results demonstrate that using soybean meal, soy protein concentrate and corn gluten meal as the primary protein sources, a plant‐based feed formulation can be developed, but the removal of all animal proteins is not yet feasible. 相似文献

Irish Sea fisheries have undergone considerable change in recent years following the decline of commercially important finfish stocks and their slow response to management's recovery plans. In 2015, the fishing industry called for a holistic exploration into the impact of environmental change and food web effects to identify the drivers underpinning stock dynamics. In this study, we identify correlations between large‐scale climatic indicators, temperature, primary and secondary productivity, and fish recruitment in the Irish Sea and incorporate them into an Ecopath with Ecosim food web model co‐created by scientists and fishers. Negative correlations were found between the North Atlantic Oscillation winter index (NAOw) and large zooplankton abundance and between the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO) and the recruitment of cod (Gadus morhua) and whiting (Merlangius merlangus). Using correlation analyses to direct the addition of environmental drivers to the Irish Sea ecosystem model improved the models fit against observed biomass and catch data and revealed the indirect impacts of environmental change as mitigated through trophic interactions. Model simulations suggest that historic environmental change suppressed the overall production of commercial finfish, limiting opportunities for the fishing industry, whilst also dampening the rate of stock recovery despite marked reductions in fishing effort. These results suggest that failure to account for ecosystem information may lead to misconceived expectations and flawed fisheries management; therefore, there is a need to operationalize ecosystem information through management procedures to support fisheries advice. 相似文献

利用蝉花虫草Ophiocordyceps sobolifera代谢产物N6-(2-羟乙基)腺苷(HEA)作用于小菜蛾Plutella xylostella L.获得差异表达的片段,采用RT-PCR和RACE技术从小菜蛾中克隆全长1828 bp的小菜蛾腺苷受体(Plutella xylostella adenosine receptor,PxAdoR)基因,通过生物信息学软件预测和分析蛋白质结构,PxAdoR为分子量49.2 kD,没有信号肽,疏水性不稳定蛋白,具有7次跨膜螺旋结构的一类G蛋白偶联受体(G protein coupled receptor,GPCRs)。利用HEA及哺乳动物腺苷受体A2aR抑制剂SCH58261处理小菜蛾2龄幼虫,结果显示联合使用HEA和SCH58261后36~60 h,可使HEA引起的小菜蛾2龄幼虫的校正死亡率显著降低(42.7%~53.9%,P<0.05);而联合用药后36、48、60 h小菜蛾2龄幼虫体重增长抑制率由43.3%、38.3%、46.2%显著降低(P<0.05)到13.2%、10.3%、8.6%。本研究表明SCH58261能显著降低HEA引起的小菜蛾2龄幼虫的死亡率和体重增长抑制率,HEA可能是通过PxAdoR而起作用,PxAdoR基因可以作为新的杀虫靶点用于害虫控制研究。 相似文献
