There is little information known about the energy requirements of cats in temperature climates. Energy requirement of domestic short‐haired cats was determined using three groups of mixed gender – old kept outside (approximately 9.9 years of age; 4.8 kg; n = 9), young kept outside (approximately 3.1 years of age; 3.9 kg; n = 8) or young kept inside (approximately 3.1 years of age; 3.9 kg; n = 8). Cats were housed individually for 5 weeks during summer (18.5 ± 0.5 °C) and winter (8.5 ± 0.4 °C) and were fed a commercially available maintenance diet ad libitum. In both periods, energy expenditure was determined from the rates of 2H and 18O elimination for blood H2O over a 12 day period, from a doubly labelled water bolus 2H2O (0.7 g/kg BW) and H218O (0.13 g/kg BW) administered intravenously. During the summer period, macronutrient digestibility was determined. Older cats had a reduction (p < 0.05) in apparent digestibility of dry matter (approximately 9%), energy (approximately 8%) and protein (6%). There was a significant effect of age and season on energy intake and energy expenditure. While lean mass was affected by age and season, there was no effect of age or season on energy expenditure when expressed as a proportion of lean mass. Possible seasonal differences in nutrient digestibility may explain these results. 相似文献

为应用牛组织中C、N同位素组成的区域分布和同位素指标溯源肉牛产地,本文利用同位素比率质谱仪(IRMS)对陕西关中不同区县来源的牛尾毛样品的1δ3C和1δ5N值进行检测,通过聚类分析,研究陕西关中地区肉牛组织中同位素组成的区域分布情况。结果表明,杨凌区、眉县牛尾毛样品聚为一类;乾县、永寿县样品聚为一类;麟游县样品聚为一类;扶风县、岐山县和凤翔县分类不十分明显,分散在上述3类中。说明陕西关中不同地区肉牛组织中同位素组成存在差异,利用它们可进行肉牛地域的小范围溯源。 相似文献

Liveweight gain was evaluated in tropical Dorper X Pelibuey lambs under intensive continuous grazing of native grasslands dominated by Paspalum notatum (PN) or Axonopus compressus (AC) in the subtropics of Central Mexico. Two trials were undertaken. Trial 1 lasted 12 weeks with 10 lambs (initial weight 18 +/- 2.57 kg, 3 months old) per treatment in 2002, and Trial 2 for 13 weeks with 8 lambs (initial weight 24.0 +/- 2.0 kg, 4 months old) per treatment. Lambs were weighed once per week, and liveweight change was estimated by linear regression over day of the experiment, using individual regression coefficients as unbiased estimates of daily liveweight change; analysed in a random block design. Lambs on Trial 1 gained 0.061 kg/lamb/day on PN and 0.047 kg/lamb/day on AC (P > 0.05) at an overall mean stocking rate of 25 lambs/ha. In Trial 2, liveweight gain was significantly larger in PN (0.060 kg/lamb/day) than on AC (0.043 kg/lamb/day) (P < 0.05), at a mean stocking rate of 21.5 lambs/ha. It is concluded that intensive continuous grazing of native grasslands in the subtropics of the highlands of Central Mexico enables moderate liveweight gains for weaned lambs during the rainy season; with better results in grasslands dominated by Paspalum notatum. 相似文献

为探究WIF1(Wnt inhibitory factor 1)基因中WIF1-I8-sv889结构变异位点变异与皱皮香猪躯干被毛形成的关系,本试验采用冰冻组织切片观察皱皮香猪皮肤毛囊的组织学形态,采用PCR方法分析WIF1-I8-sv889位点在猪群中的分布频率,并通过在线软件UCSC、RegRNA 2.0对结构变异序列所含的功能元件进行分析。组织学研究显示,与正常香猪和大白猪皮肤相比,皱皮香猪毛囊毛根鞘伸入真皮层,形成棘突,且皱褶凹陷处毛囊聚集,相反皱褶凸起处毛囊较少;皱皮香猪皮肤毛囊中的毛球宽度显著增大(P<0.05),单个毛囊中的毛干数极显著增多(P<0.01)。在WIF1-I8-sv889结构变异断点两端设计特异性引物,扩增片段长1383 bp,与参考基因组比,1383 bp中889 bp为结构变异区间,缺失581 bp,倒置308 bp。群体分布结果显示,猪群中WIF1-I8-sv889位点呈现出丰富的多态性,检测到3种基因型:正常的Ⅱ型、杂合的DI型和缺失的DD型,皱皮香猪中未检测到Ⅱ型;与正常香猪和大白猪相比,皱皮香猪中D等位基因占优势(94.44%);经卡方检验,皱皮香猪D等位基因显著或极显著高于正常香猪和大白猪(P<0.05;P<0.01)。结果提示,WIF1基因中的WIF1-I8-sv889结构变异可能与皱皮香猪毛囊的形态发生有关。 相似文献

过表达IL-6对山羊毛囊干细胞增殖和迁移的影响 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
旨在通过在山羊毛囊干细胞(HFSCs)中过表达炎症因子白细胞介素6(IL-6),探讨其对山羊HFSCs增殖和迁移的影响,阐明MAPK/ERK信号通路在山羊HFSCs增殖和迁移过程中发挥的作用。本试验通过构建pXJ40-myc-IL-6过表达载体,瞬时转染到山羊HFSCs中,以空载体细胞为空白对照组。利用Western blot定量检测IL-6蛋白的表达,MTT法检测山羊HFSCs的增殖活力,划痕试验判定山羊HFSCs的迁移能力,最后采用Westernblot检测山羊HFSCs中MAPK/ERK和P38信号通路中关键激酶的表达水平。结果表明,将获得的IL-6过表达载体转染至山羊HFSCs3d后,与对照组比较,山羊HFSCs的增殖活力出现抑制,且抑制效果持续至第7天(P<0.05)。IL-6过表达载体转染至山羊HFSCs24h后,处理组划痕部位的愈合率达到84.2%,显著低于对照组的98.5%(P<0.01)。与对照组相比,MAPK/ERK信号通路中的关键激酶ERK1/2的磷酸化水平(p-ERK1/2)显著下调(P<0.01),P38信号通路中的关键激酶p38的磷酸化水平(p-p38)表达量上调,但差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。综上所述,过表达IL-6基因对山羊HFSCs的增殖和迁移能力具有抑制作用,且过表达IL-6可能是通过MAPK/REK信号通路对山羊HFSCs增殖和迁移发挥负性调控作用,以上结果为揭示山羊HFSCs的迁移及组织修复机制的研究提供依据。 相似文献

为了探究成纤维生长因子家族(Fibroblast growth factor families,FGFs)中,FGF11、13、18对毛囊的生长发育的作用,本研究以3/5/8/13/16/18/20/23日龄小鼠背部皮肤为试验样本,利用免疫组织化学技术、实时荧光定量PCR和蛋白免疫印迹技术检测FGF11、FGF13、FGF18基因及蛋白在小鼠背部皮肤的分布和表达情况。定位结果显示:FGF11、FGF13、FGF18在皮肤真皮乳头、毛基质、内根鞘、外根鞘和皮脂腺表达,而FGF13在膨大部、基底层和表皮也表达,FGF18也表达在膨大部和表皮。定量结果均显示:FGF11的表达没有一定的规律;FGF13在13日龄表达量最低,从16日龄开始上升;FGF18从3日龄表达量开始降低,16日龄降到最低,18日龄开始上升。提示:FGF11对小鼠毛囊第一生长周期可能没有明显和特定的调节作用;FGF13可能对毛囊的自我更新有一定的作用,诱导毛囊从静止期向再生长期过渡,促进毛囊生长;而FGF18在毛囊生长周期中从静止期向生长期过度有一定的作用,可促使毛囊从静止期进入再生长期。 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine whether manually plucked hairs might serve as an alternative sample for a quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) testing. Twenty three, 1~3 week old, non-bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) vaccinated calves, found to be positive for BVDV by immunohistochemical staining, were selected and hairs were manually plucked from the ear. qRT-PCR was performed on samples consisting of more than 30 hairs (30~100) and whole blood. All 23 animals were positive for the virus by qRT-PCR performed on the whole blood and when samples of more than 30 hairs were assayed. Additionally, qRT-PCR was performed on groups of 10 and 20 hairs harvested from 7 out of 23 immunohistochemical staining-positive calves. When groups of 20 and 10 hairs were tested, 6 and 4 animals, respectively, were positive for the virus. 相似文献
