This test was aimed to research the role of rafoxanide on anthelmintic effects in six months old Yili horses.Ten Yili male horses with same date of birth,body weight(117.60±15.84)kg and the horses of six months old were randomly divided into 2 groups,each group of 5 horses,control and trial groups,respectively.The horses in two groups were fed with the same nutritional levels of roughage and concentrate supplement.Horses of trial group were expelled passasite by rafoxanide,but control group had not treatment.After expelling passasite,and a 18-day feeding trials,the number of worm eggs output and species in each horses were calculated,and anthelmintic effects were evaluated.The results showed that we identified 9 species worm eggs,included Parascaris SP,Capillaria equouum,Cyathostomes,Triodontophorus tenuicollis,G. acgyptiacus,Strongyloides westeri,Dictyocaulus arnfieldi,Oxyuris equi and Paranoplace phala mamillana;on the 3rd day after expelling passasit, EPG was reached 13 500/g in fresh faeces;on the 6th day,the infection rate was 6.37%, the worm eggs reducing rate was 90.59%,the worm eggs flooding rate was 93.63%;On the 18th day, the infection rate was 13.33%,the worm eggs reducing rate was 71.91%,the worm eggs flooding rate was 86.67%.Therefore,there were more categories intestinal parasitic in six months old Yili horse in Xinjiang,rafoxanide had a good effect,and the effect of rafoxanide reduced after expelling passasite 18th day.  相似文献

AIMS: To determine the plasma disposition and concentrations of ivermectin (IVM) in eggs produced by laying hens following S/C, oral and I/V administration.

METHODS: Twenty-four laying hens, aged 37 weeks and weighing 1.73 (SD 0.12) kg were allocated to three groups of eight birds. The injectable formulation of IVM was administered either orally, S/C, or I/V, at a dose of 0.2?mg/kg liveweight, following dilution (1:5, v/v) with propylene glycol. Heparinised blood samples were collected at various times between 0.25 hours and 20 days after drug administration. Eggs produced by hens were also collected daily throughout the study period. Samples of plasma and homogenised egg were analysed using HPLC.

RESULTS: Maximum concentrations of IVM in plasma and mean residence time of IVM were lower after oral (10.2 (SD 7.2) ng/mL and 0.38 (SD 0.14) days, respectively) than after S/C (82.9 (SD 12.4) ng/mL and 1.05 (SD 0.24) days, respectively) administration (p<0.01). The time to maximum concentration and elimination half-life were shorter following oral (0.14 (SD 0.04) and 0.23 (SD 0.11) days, respectively) than S/C (0.25 (SD 0.00) and 1.45 (SD 0.45) days, respectively) administration (p<0.01). IVM was first detected in eggs 2 days after treatment in all groups and was detected until 8 days after oral and I/V administration, and until 15 days after S/C administration. Peak concentrations of IVM were 15.7, 23.3 and 1.9?µg/kg, observed 2, 5 and 4 days after I/V, S/C and oral administration, respectively.

CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: The low plasma bioavailability of IVM observed after oral administration in laying hens could result in lower efficacy or subtherapeutic plasma concentrations, which may promote the development of parasitic drug resistance. Due to high IVM residues in eggs compared to the maximum residue limits for other food-producing animal species, a withdrawal period should be necessary for eggs after IVM treatment in laying hens.  相似文献

Prevalence studies have shown that almost 100% of free-range chickens are infected with a wide range of parasites. The infections are mostly subclinical in nature, resulting in production losses and occasionally mortality. Newcastle disease (ND), on the other hand, results in high mortality rates during epidemics. ND is a limiting factor for increasing poultry production in many tropical countries, where frequent reports indicate vaccination failures. The aim of our study was to investigate the influence of helminths on the antibody response after vaccination against Newcastle disease of free-range chickens naturally infected with parasites. Sixty chickens were divided into six groups, of which three were vaccinated against ND with a live De Soto vaccine, while the other three remained non-vaccinated. One group within the vaccinated groups and the one within the non-vaccinated group was kept naturally infected with helminth parasites, while the other two groups in each set were dewormed with fenbendazole and niclosamide, and one of each of these groups was subsequently infected with Ascaridia galli. After vaccination, all the groups were followed for 5 weeks and their antibody titres were determined weekly using a HI test. All the birds were finally challenged 4 weeks after vaccination with a virulent velogenic ND virus obtained from a field outbreak. All the vaccinated chickens seroconverted and had high antibody levels after 3 weeks, but these dropped to low levels at 4 weeks after vaccination. After challenge, the antibody titres rose in the dewormed groups but not in the parasite-infected groups. After 5 weeks, all the parasite-infected animals had significantly lower antibody titres than the dewormed animals. All the vaccinated chickens survived the challenge infection, emphasizing the importance of the cellular immune response. Further studies are needed to examine the effects of the parasitic infection on protection against ND over a longer period.  相似文献

The objective of the study was to compare the in vitro egg hatch test (EHT), larval development test (LDT) and in vivo faecal egg count reduction test (FECR test) for the detection of benzimidazole resistance in equine strongyles. The presence of resistant or susceptible strongyle populations was determined in 25 stud farms using the in vivo FECR test and in vitro EHT. On the basis of the FECR values, resistance to fenbendazole was detected on 15 of the 25 farms (60%). The ED50 value (anthelmintic concentration producing 50% inhibition of hatching) for suspected resistant populations varied from 0.110 to 0.222 g/ml thiabendazole (TBZ). Final LD50 values (anthelmintic concentration inhibiting development of 50% of eggs into L3 infective larvae) above 0.029 g/ml TBZ in the in vitro larval development test on samples from 11 stud farms revealed the presence of populations of small strongyles suspected of being benzimidazole-resistant.  相似文献

Alveolar echinococcosis is one of the most important lethal zoonotic helminth infections in the northern hemisphere. Currently, the threat to public health is increasing, as evidenced by the rising prevalence rate of alveolar echinococcosis, as well as the invasion of urban areas by infected wild foxes. This threat is further increased due to the involvement of pet dogs, and probably cats, as emerging sources of infection. These increased threats to public health also have associated economic risks; therefore, there is a need for effective and sustainable methods of control. In this paper, initiatives to control alveolar echinococcosis by targeting its definitive hosts through anthelmintic baiting campaigns initiated by local residents who used local resources for bait production, distribution and collection of fecal samples for diagnosis are described. Further, when such distribution programs are coupled with the use of GIS-based maps, the optimum distribution of bait was obtained. These programs have also included the use of intravital diagnostic analyses of infection rates, which have been overseen by the Forum on Environment and Animals (FEA), and also allowed a nationwide monitoring of echinococcosis in difinitive hosts. In addition, a government initiative requiring mandatory reporting of echinococcosis in dogs to health authorities was recently initiated in Japan. Overall, the results of this study have shown that use of collaborative control initiatives targeting zoonotic agents of alveolar echinococcosis can be an effective method for reducing the threat of lethal echinococcosis in the northern hemisphere.  相似文献

Spigelia anthelmia Linn is used as a herb and is a common annual weed of cultivation in open re-growths, on unused land in towns as well as on road sides. The plant can grow to approximately 30 cm in height. The aim of this study was to screen extracts of Spigelia anthelmia for their anthelmintic activity against an experimental Nippostrongylus braziliensis infection in rats. Acute oral toxicity occurred at a dose of 1,140mg/kg, while anthelmintic trials against Nippostrongylus braziliensis in rats using the aqueous fraction showed a progressive decrease in worm count with increasing dose (10, 13, 16, 20 and 25 mg per kg body weight) (p < 0.05). At 25 mg per kg body weight, the worm count was significantly lower than that at 10mg per kg body weight (p < 0.05).  相似文献

目的了解内蒙古部分地区散养户羊群毛圆科线虫的抗药性。方法将丙硫咪唑、伊维菌素配制成不同浓度的药液,利用幼虫发育试验对羊毛圆科线虫进行检测,统计数据,建立直线回归方程,计算出幼虫发育半数抑制量(LD50)。结果包头土右旗羊伊维菌素和丙硫咪唑的LD50平均值分别为0.0 039μg/mL和0.0 052μg/mL,最高值分别为0.0 055μg/mL和0.0 085μg/mL;鄂尔多斯达旗羊两者平均值0.0 034μg/mL,0.0 036μg/mL,最高值分别为0.0 078μg/mL和0.011μg/mL;同时将上述地区羊丙硫咪唑LD50最高值同宁夏地区抗苯并咪唑类虫株相应的LD50值进行了对比,前者的LD50值明显低于后者。结论上述被检地区散养户羊群毛圆科线虫尚不具有抗药性。  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To assess the effects of tail amputation and treatment with albendazole controlled-release capsule (CRC) on the health and productivity of prime lambs. DESIGN: Field trials on three farms. ANIMALS: About 551 Coopworth-Poll Dorset cross, 588 Border Leicester-Merino-Poll Dorset cross and 575 Corriedale-Poll Dorset cross lambs. PROCEDURE: On three farms, lambs with amputated tails were compared with an equal number of lambs with tails left entire. In both of these groups half the lambs were treated with an albendazole CRC 13 weeks after the start of lambing. Faecal soiling of the breech and flystrike of the breech were recorded. Lambs were weighed and body condition scored at each visit and carcase weights and fat score of each lamb at slaughter. Procedures on the slaughter chain were monitored to determine whether the retention of the tail caused any problems. RESULTS: There were no observed benefits of treatment with an albendazole CRC on the farms in the study. There was no strong evidence that tail amputation had any long-term effect on the growth rate of lambs or carcase traits. No detrimental effects were observed during processing of lambs with long tails in the abattoir. Lambs with entire tails had significantly greater mean dag scores than lambs with amputated tails. On one farm lambs with entire tails were at about twice the risk of requiring crutching and on another farm were at three times the risk of breech strike compared with lambs with amputated tails. CONCLUSION: This study provides evidence that amputating the tail is not an absolute requirement to maintain the health and welfare of prime lambs, but leaving the tail of prime lambs entire is likely to increase chemical usage to control flystrike, and to increase the frequency of crutching.  相似文献
