Management of feral domestic cats in the urban environment of Rome (Italy)

In Italy, which is rabies-free, the national Law No. 281 [Legge Nazionale 14 agosto 1991. No. 281: Legge Quadro in materia di animali di affezione e prevenzione del randagismo. Gazz. Uff. Rep. Ital. no 203 del 30 agosto 1991: p. 3] on the management of pets and on the control of feral cats has introduced the no-kill policy for this species. Thus, “trap-neuter-release” (TNR) programs have been carried out for >10 years. In this paper we present data on registered colonies and censused cats in Rome from 1991 to 2000; the results of the neutering campaign from 1991 to 2000; and a survey, on 103 cat colonies, on the effects of demographic control of urban feral-cat colonies in the city of Rome, carried out by the local Veterinary Public Services (VPS) in collaboration with the associations of cat care-takers. In 10 years almost 8000 were neutered and reintroduced in their original colony. The spay/neuter campaigns brought about a general decrease in cat number but the percentage of cat immigration (due to abandonment and spontaneous arrival) is around 21%. This suggests that all these efforts without an effective education of people to control the reproduction of house cats (as a prevention for abandonment) are a waste of money, time and energy.     

新城疫病毒融合蛋白裂解位点基因的分离克隆及在原核细胞中的表达

用ＳＰＦ鸡胚繁殖新城疫病毒（ＮＤＶ）Ｆ４６Ｅ９株（强毒）、ＬａＳｏｔａＥ４株（弱毒），对病毒进行纯化，抽提ＲＮＡ。用１对均为２７个碱基的引物进行ＲＴ－ＰＣＲ，扩增出了２个毒株的融合蛋白裂解位点（Ｆｃ）基因。将Ｆｃ基因定向克隆入ｐＵＣ１８的ＥｃｏＲＩ和ＳａｌⅠ位点之间，获得２个毒株Ｆｃ基因克隆ｐＵＣＦ４６Ｆｃ和ｐＵＣＬａＦｃ，用ＥｃｏＲＩ／ＳａｌⅠ双酶切法、ＰｓｔⅠ单酶切法、ＰＣＲ法和核酸探针法对其进行了鉴定。将鉴定好的ＬａＳｏｔａＥ４Ｆｃ基因定向导入表达载体质粒ｐＢＶ２２１，获得重组子ｐＢＶＬａＦｃ。ＰＣＲ和内切酶酶切法鉴定表明，Ｆｃ插入的位置和方向都正确无误。用Ｅ．ｃｏｌｉＤＨ５α通过热诱导法进行了表达。用ＳＤＳ－ＰＡＧＥ和Ｗｅｓｔｅｒｎ－ｂｌｏｔ法检测了表达产物。结果表明，有１条能够与ＮＤＶ多抗反应的特异条带，分子量约１５７００，与预期大小一致，说明是Ｆｃ基因的表达产物     

SR92A系黄羽肉鸡与萧山鸡及其杂种后代的DNA指纹分析

本文以EAV(禽内源性反转录病毒片段 )为探针 ,EcoRI为限制性内切酶 ,对萧山鸡、SR92A系及其杂交后代进行了DNA指纹图谱的研究。结果表明 :EAV探针适合于鸡的DNA指纹分析 ,能产生清晰可辩的图谱。平均条带总数为11.384± 0 .84 4 ,两品种间、公母间条带总数均无显著差异。萧山鸡和SR92A系品种内相似系数分别为 0 .5 81、0 .5 11,高于品种间相似系数 (0 .2 31)。杂交后代相似系数为 0 .30 1。     

提高《兽医内科学》教学质量的探讨

《兽医内科学》是动物医学专业理论性、实践性和系统性较强的临床专业课。通过对兽医内科学教师综合素质培养和教学能力的提高,对课程内容进行调整与丰富教学方法,建立实习基地与加强实践教学等方面进行改革,将教学与社会需求、个人发展相结合,旨在提高教学效率,培养学生的综合应用能力,从而增强学生的就业能力。     

利用兽药典方法对青霉素钾工业盐和原料药的检测比较

为了辨别青霉素钾工业盐和青霉素钾原料药,依据《中国兽药典》中青霉素钾的质量标准,对四家青霉素原料药生产企业提供的4批青霉素钾工业盐和4批青霉素钾原料药进行了检测,项目包括性状、鉴别、吸光度、结晶性、溶液澄清度与颜色、青霉素聚合物、干燥失重、不溶性微粒、酸碱度、有关物质、细菌内毒素、可见异物、无菌和含量测定。结果表明,8批样品均符合现行兽药典青霉素钾标准中各项规定,但结果无法用以区分青霉素钾工业盐和青霉素钾原料药,提示青霉素钾的质量标准需进一步完善,以提高对成品药——注射用青霉素钾的质量控制。     

兽药中非法添加物检测及风险防范技术研究

本文总结了近年来兽药中非法添加的规律,分析成因;全面梳理现有检测标准,对非法添加物检测方法的检测对象和目标药物进行统计分析,研究检测方法发展及内在联系。在非法添加物检测方法提升和风险防范方面进行思考,提出筛查与确证方法并重、进一步扩大检测方法适用性、加强高效、高通量检测技术研究、拓展非法添加物检测品种范围;加强检查与宣传、疏堵结合,全面减少非法添加风险。     

兽医微生物学设计性实验教学探索

兽医微生物学实验教学中,增设了2个设计性试验,学生根据试验要求查阅资料、制定试验方案、独立进行试验操作、结果判断与分析,使学生牢固掌握了病原微生物的诊断程序,提高了学生分析问题、解决问题的能力,是兽医微生物学试验教学改革的有益尝试。     

Perspectives on veterinary education in Thailand

Veterinary education is the foundation of veterinary services in the country. Starting from the service sector in the army, veterinary education and practice in Thailand have been standardized and progressed toward international veterinary standards. The 6-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine core curriculum is deployed to develop the curriculum for each Veterinary Education Establishment (VEE). The challenges for veterinary education and practices reflect the country’s expectations of veterinary services. With regional and global collaboration, the VEEs have been developing tools and learning platforms for delivering qualified veterinary graduates that fit fast-growing society needs.
