In this study, exotoxins produced by 62 Aeromonas salmonicida strains and the bacterium Haemophilus piscium were analysed. Enzymatic assays, zymograms and serological detection were used to monitor secretion by bacterial strains of the previously described exotoxins P1, GCAT and AsaP1 and also the extracellular P2 metallo-gelatinase and a serine caseinase, which is different from the P1 protease and has not yet been characterized. Based on the results, the strains were divided into five groups. One comprised the type strains for A. salmonicida ssp. masoucida, H. piscium and 36% of the atypical isolates, and another, a type strain for A. salmonicida ssp. smithia together with 14% of the atypical isolates. A second type strain of A. salmonicida ssp. smithia was grouped with 8% of the atypical isolates. The largest group contained the type strains for A. salmonicida ssp. achromogenes and 38% of the atypical isolates. The type strains for A. salmonicida ssp. salmonicida were in the last group with all the four typical strains and 4% of the atypical isolates. The combination of zymogram and serological detection used is recommended as the most reliable method for characterizing A. salmonicida strains according to their exotoxin secretion. 相似文献
Four isonitrogenous (30% crude protein) and isocaloric (4.40 kcal/g) experimental diets were formulated to contain 0.0% (control), 0.5%, 1.0%, or 1.5% cinnamon. The diet containing 1% cinnamon resulted in significantly greater (P < 0.05) specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency ratio (FER), protein efficiency ratio (PER), apparent protein utilization (APU), and energy utilization (EU). In regard to body composition, there was no significant difference in dry matter, protein, lipids, and ash (P > 0.05) contents due to cinnamon supplementation. Blood plasma profile showed an improvement in hemoglobin (HB), red blood cell (RBCS), hematocrite (PCV), total protein, and total lipids, while there was a decrease in creatinin, urea, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and glucose in fish fed 1% cinnamon. Cinnamon was found to have an antibacterial activity antagonistic to Aeromonas hydrophila infection in fish. Performance and FCR improvement translated into a 10% decrease in feed costs associated with the 1% cinnamon diet. 相似文献
We tried to identify the bacteria and explore the mechanism of the bacteria's pathogenicity via housekeeping gene gyrB and in vitro organ culture (IVOC) of ileum and intramuscular injection. Microscope, electron microscope and scanning electron microscope were also used to observe and the structure, pathogen of M12 and changes of infected tissues. The results showed that M12 was short gram-negative bacteria, and both ends of it were obtuse and the size without flagellum was (0.6 to 1.6) μm×(0.6 to 0.7)μm while length of flagellum was about 2 to 3 times of the length of bacteria. It had 100.0% similarity with Aeromonas caviae from GenBank. IVOC test observed M12' adhesion in intestinal epithelial cell, resulting in formulation of biofilm structure and damage in intestinal epithelial cell. Histopathologic examination showed that M12 could cause damage in intestine, liver, lung, kidney, muscle tissue of rabbit. The assay would offer references for researching the pathogenic mechanism of Aeromonas caviae. 相似文献
