正在构建的社会主义和谐社会赋予了各级各类图书馆新的时代内涵，由此也决定了图书馆在和谐社会构建进程中的角色定位：科学发展与和谐发展的服务器；民主法治的推进器；社会公正与稳定的调解器；人的全面发展的加速器：社会活力的润滑器。因此．在构建社会主义和谐社会的进程中，我们必须高度重视图书馆建设。一是建立多元化经费筹措机制，增加图书馆事业资金投入；二是改革原有管理体制，加强图书馆机构网络建设；三是树立图书馆工作新观念，建设新型功能的图书馆；四是加快图书馆法规立法工作，实现图书馆建设与管理的法制化；五是构建和谐的图书馆管理文化，增强图书馆的创新能力和核心竞争力。     

西南地区资源贫乏型村镇产业振兴中的政府角色探析——以云南省W县为例

乡村振兴中产业兴旺是关键,我国农村的多样性与异质性决定了不同地区的村庄应走不同的产业振兴道路,产生不同的政府角色。通过对云南W县政府在产业振兴中的角色分析,发现在西南资源贫乏型地区的产业振兴中,政府扮演着主导者与实践者的双重角色,基层政府通过对农户的权威抵押型强动员和对企业的弱约束合作完成产业的组织建设,但这也导致由产业转化为发展面临较大风险、政府公信力下降等潜在问题。通过案例分析,提出资源约束下的政府强动员困境以及该困境中的政府角色补位现象,并对该现象的产生进行了社会学分析,认为农民个体主义的发展取向与政府属地主义的发展取向在资源困境下的分歧,导致了政府被迫采取角色补位,进而陷入强动员困境。     

构建新农村建设多元主体协同机制的思考

社会主义新农村建设是一项宏伟工程,单纯依靠政府或者农民等某一个主体的力量去推动,是不现实的,需要构建多元主体互动的协同机制。既有农村内源性主体的打造和开发,也离不开外援性主体的大力支持,更需要引导主体的正确引领,形成内外联动、协同并进的格局。各主体能在新农村建设中进行良好的互动,也需要构造一定的实现路径。     

社会学角色理论视阈下的研究生导师角色扮演———兼论和谐研究生师生关系构建

导师与研究生的关系融洽与否直接影响到研究生培养的质量。在构建和谐的研究生师生关系中,导师应当明确自己承担的社会责任,扮演好自己的角色。导师不仅是研究生知识的传播者、科学研究的引路人,也是全面发展的服务者和发现、培养拔尖创新人才的伯乐。     

Porifera Lectins: Diversity,Physiological Roles and Biotechnological Potential

An overview on the diversity of 39 lectins from the phylum Porifera is presented, including 38 lectins, which were identified from the class of demosponges, and one lectin from the class of hexactinellida. Their purification from crude extracts was mainly performed by using affinity chromatography and gel filtration techniques. Other protocols were also developed in order to collect and study sponge lectins, including screening of sponge genomes and expression in heterologous bacterial systems. The characterization of the lectins was performed by Edman degradation or mass spectrometry. Regarding their physiological roles, sponge lectins showed to be involved in morphogenesis and cell interaction, biomineralization and spiculogenesis, as well as host defense mechanisms and potentially in the association between the sponge and its microorganisms. In addition, these lectins exhibited a broad range of bioactivities, including modulation of inflammatory response, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities, as well as anticancer and neuromodulatory activity. In view of their potential pharmacological applications, sponge lectins constitute promising molecules of biotechnological interest.     

Potential rainwater storage capacity of irrigation ponds

From antiquity to the present, Japan has irrigated many paddy fields from irrigation ponds. There are some 64,000 such irrigation ponds with a benefit area of over 2 ha each. These irrigation ponds not only function as a water-source for the stable production of food, but also are thought to reduce flooding in lower regions through temporary storage of rainwater and catchment runoff because they are located upstream of paddy fields, upland fields and residential land. Centering our research on Kagawa and Osaka Prefectures, we assessed the potential of rainwater storage capacity created by free space in irrigation ponds resulting from irrigation at a macro level as an indicator of flood mitigation. In these prefectures, potential rainwater storage capacity of irrigation ponds in early September was 2.1 and 1.4 times that of the potential storage capacity of associated paddy fields in an ordinary year.     

Gender, rural households, and biodiversity in native Mexico

Knowledge about maize varieties is the key to rural households' survival in native Mexico. Native peoples relate to nature in particular ways and they play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity. This paper discusses the relationship between native women's accumulated knowledge on maize varieties and the laboratory analysis of the species that they manage. Fieldwork was conducted in an Otomí community, San Pablo Arriba, located in the state of Mexico. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.
