Forty-four bacterial isolates were obtained from infected wheat, barley and various grasses from different regions of Iran. All isolates were bacteriologically similar toXanthomonas campestris and some of their physiological and biochemical features can be useful for a primary differentiation between them. Depending on their pathogenicity, the isolates were split into two groups; the wheat group isolated from wheat, barley and grasses could infect artificially wheat, barley, rye,Agropyron elongatum, Bromus inermis, andLolium multiflorum but not oat, whereas the barley group obtained from cultivated or wild barley was pathogenic to barley only. From their bacteriological characteristics and host range, the barley and the wheat group isolated were identified asX. campestris pvs.hordei andcerealis, respectively.Aegilops sp.,Sclerochloa dura, andHeteranthelium sp. were, for the first time, shown to be hosts ofX. c. pv.cerealis.  相似文献

Feeding whole barley and a protein supplement at choice to early weaned lambs (15 kg initial weight) was studied in four experiments. In a first experiment whole barley and a pelleted soybean meal-based supplement (348 g crude protein (CP)/kg dry matter (DM)) were given either at choice (CH) or mixed in a 75 / 25 ratio (M) and compared to a pelleted compound feed containing the same ingredients and supplemented with barley straw (C). The effect of allowing free access to straw in the CH treatment (CHS) was tested in a second experiment. Rumen fermentation was also studied in six lambs per treatment slaughtered after the growing period, and digestibility and allantoin excretion were determined in other four lambs per treatment. In Experiments 3 and 4 supplements containing 253–264 (L), 341–329 (M) and 424–427 (H) g CP/kg DM were offered at choice with whole barley to lambs penned individually (Experiment 3) or in a group (Experiment 4) and diet selection and lamb performance were recorded.

The protein supplement was selected in proportions of 0.28 and 0.34 (S.E. 0.021) of concentrate intake with treatments M and CH (Experiment 1) and 0.45 and 0.52 (S.E. 0.033) with treatments CH and CHS (Experiment 2). The concentration of rumen ammonia increased (P < 0.05) to 28 and 56 (S.E. 8.6) mg/l compared to 12 mg/l in treatment C. Rumen pH also increased (P < 0.001) from 4.95 to 5.48 and 5.60 (S.E. 0.080) with treatments CH and CHS while the concentration of volatile fatty acids and the acetate to propionate ratio tended to decrease (P < 0.1). Organic matter digestibility and allantoin excretion were higher with whole barley feeding (0.82 vs. 0.75 (S.E. 0.18) and 13.1 vs. 7.7 (S.E. 1.06) mmol/d) but decreased with straw supplementation (0.78 and 10.2 mmol/d). Daily weight gain of male lambs (but not of females) tended (P = 0.08) to be higher with whole barley than with the compound feed due to higher concentrate intake (P < 0.05), which was also depressed by straw supplementation of whole barley reducing the rate of gain (P = 0.06). Incidence of hyperparakeratosis and ulceration of rumen wall was high with all treatments (0.80 and 0.36) but papillary clogging was less frequent (P < 0.01) with whole barley (0.16) than with the compound feed (0.70) and tended (P = 0.01) to be reduced by straw supplementation. In Experiments 3 and 4 the proportion of protein supplements selected ranked in reverse order to their CP content, resulting in diets of similar CP concentration (180–200 g/kg DM). It is concluded that choice feeding of whole barley may be a practical alternative that offers some advantages over conventional compound feeding of growing lambs.  相似文献

以陕西关中目前推广的啤酒大麦品种西安91—2为对照,对引进后筛选的啤酒大麦材料斯库拿、D-63、D-67和酿造二条等4个大麦品种(系)进行适应性鉴定分析。试验结果表明,所筛选出的4个大麦品种(系)均有较好的生态适应性。4个大麦品种(系)均能正常成熟;产量均比对照西安91—2增产,其中斯库拿比西安91—2增产30%以上。在产量构成因素中,斯库拿和酿造二条的单位面积穗数比西安91—2多,千粒重比西安91—2大。D-63和D-67的穗粒数明显多于西安91—2。  相似文献

The abundance of Avena sterilis in dryland barley fields was studied in four Spanish provinces. During two growing seasons, differential geopositioning system (DGPS)‐geo‐referenced A. sterilis infestations were obtained in 31 fields. The majority of the infestations were concentrated in few large but irregularly shaped patches, with a higher number of smaller and more regular patches accounting for a small proportion of the infestation. A multitude of very small and irregular patches completed the inventory. The implications of this spatial structure were studied. Site‐specific adjusted‐dose herbicide application offered 61–74% potential herbicide savings. However, given the low levels of infestation and the low economic returns obtained in most of the provinces, the most profitable strategy was generally no herbicide application. Site‐specific treatments were advantageous only in high‐returns systems. Because few large patches provided the majority of the infestation, zone‐specific treatments would be advisable, until such time that weed detection and site‐specific application technologies become more efficient.  相似文献

通过染色体观察从{[Tritcum aestivum cv.中国春×Hordeum bulbosum]F_1×T.acstivumcv.中国春5B单体}BC_1F_1连续自交而获得的57个BC_1F_5和C_1F_6代杂林种系中筛选出13个整体杂种株系(2n=6x=42)(E_1-E_(13)).形态观察表明:它们在苗期、成熟期和穗部形态以及抽穗期、株高等方面有明显的差异,从而获得了一批具有矮秆、大穗、高蛋白含量、抗小麦黄花叶病等优良农艺性状的材料.这些材料有四种减数分裂染色体构型,即具有低频率和高频率的单价体,低频率和高频率的四价体。由此推断,这些株系所特有的性状是通过染色体置换(二体与单体)和染色体易位引入的,并且这种置换和易位涉及到球茎大麦的染色体.  相似文献

提出了湿磨和稀硫酸预水解结合的啤酒麦糟酶解前预处理方法。湿磨压榨处理可以分离出麦中约50%的蛋白质,并能提高麦糟纤维素酶解糖得率14%左右。用0.75%的硫酸,固液比1∶8至1∶10预水解时121-125℃下最佳预水解时间为80-100min,150℃下最佳预水解时间为15-20min。在最佳预水解条件下,预水解糖得率为95.0%,纤维素酶水解得率为76.4%,多聚糖水解糖总得率为88.9%。  相似文献

A 4×4 Latin square experiment (Exp) was conducted using eight Debouillet yearling wethers with two wethers/cell to compare the effects of forbs and shrubs supplementation to a low-quality barley straw with alfalfa hay (ALF) supplementation in terms of nutrient digestion and balance. Diets studied in the Exp were barley straw (0.56% N) and straw plus either 42% ALF, 63% forbs (a 50:50 mixture of scarlet globemallow and leatherleaf croton) or 62% shrubs (mixture of 50% fourwing saltbush and 50% mountain mahogany). Diets containing ALF, forbs and shrubs were isonitrogenous (1.68% N). Periods of each Latin square were 15 days with total fecal and urine collections obtained on the last 5 days of each period. Dry matter intake of ALF and shrub-containing diets was similar and higher (P<0.05) than straw alone or straw plus forb diets. Nitrogen (N) retention was improved, but NDF digestibility was reduced (P<0.05), in diets containing ALF and shrubs compared with straw only. No difference in N retention among diets were detected (P>0.05) when N intake was used as a covariate. Metabolizable energy (ME) content of all the diets was similar except the shrub containing diet that was lower than the straw plus forbs or straw plus ALF but similar to the straw diet. Forbs had little influence on digestion and N utilization in the Exp presumably because of their reduced acceptability in the dried and ground form by sheep. Results suggest that native shrubs used in the study influenced intake and N utilization in a manner similar to ALF; and forbs used were similar in ME to ALF.  相似文献

Four ruminally cannulated, Debouillet wethers were used in a 4×4 latin square experiment to evaluate the influence of a forb mix, a shrub mix and alfalfa (ALF) hay on ruminal fermentation characteristics and digesta kinetics of a basal grass hay/straw (GH/S; 1.04% N) diet. The grass hay was mostly blue grama (Bouteloua gracilis) mixed with barley (Hordeum vulgare) straw. Wethers were fed either the GH/S mix (7030), GH/SALF (295813), GH/Sforbs (265420), or GH/Sshrubs (265420). The forb component consisted of equal parts of scarlet globemallow (Sphaeralcea coccinea) and leatherleaf croton (Croton corymbulosus) while shrubs were composed of equal parts of fourwing saltbush (Atriplex canescens) and mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus montanus). Ruminal pH, ammonia-N, as well as total VFA concentrations and molar proportions of individual VFA did not differ among diets. Particulate passage rates tended (P>0.10) to be greater for diets containing ALF, forbs or shrubs (2.8, 2.9 and 2.8% h–1) than the GH/S diet (2.5% h–1). In situ DM and NDF disappearance of a GH/straw (5050) mix did not differ among treatments at most incubation times, except at 96 h when extent of both DM and NDF disappearance were greater (P<0.05) in sheep fed either forbs or shrubs than in those fed other diets.  相似文献

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different barley processing techniques on the glycaemic and insulinaemic responses in horses. It was hypothesized that the changes in pre-caecal starch digestibility caused by barley processing would affect metabolic responses. Six horses were fed in random order: whole (WB), finely ground (FGB), steamed (SB), steam-flaked (SFB) and popped barley (PB). The total barley intake was adjusted to 630 g starch/horse/day (1.2-1.5 g starch/kg BW/day). During a 10-day stabilization period, the horses also received 6 kg grass hay/horse/day. On the blood collection day, the horses were fed their test diet (exclusively barley), and blood samples were taken at defined times for glucose and insulin analysis. The degree of starch gelatinization (DG) in the untreated or thermally processed barley was analysed using the glucoamylase method. In general, barley feeding resulted in a significant increase in mean plasma glucose and insulin concentrations within 30-45 min after feeding. While the highest glucose and insulin responses occurred after intake of SFB with a DG of 28.7%, the changes in glucose and insulin were more pronounced with PB with a DG of 95.6%, with SB (DG: 22.2%), FGB (DG: 14.9%) and WB (DG: 14.9%). The peak plasma glucose varied between 5.72 +/- 0.67 mmol/l with FGB and 6.52 +/- 0.64 mmol/l with SFB (treatment p < 0.05). These results confirm the post-prandial changes in plasma glucose and insulin after intake of the different barley products, but also show that there was no association of the highest degree of gelatinization in the different barley diets with the most pronounced glycaemic or insulinaemic response.  相似文献
