The present paper studies the effect of chitosan, cationic starch and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as sizing agents to enhance
surface properties of kenaf paper. The polymers were incorporated into the sheets by spray application. The results clearly
showed that the addition of chitosan to a sheet formed from beaten fibers had excellent improvement in surface properties,
compared to the effect of other additives. Sizing quality of cationic starch fairly matched with the sizing quality of chitosan,
however, it was able to reduce the water absorption potential of paper more than chitosan at a same concentration. In most
other properties, particularly the most important property for printing papers, surface smoothness, chitosan-sized papers
are superior to the paper sized with cationic starch or PVA. 相似文献

Non-wood raw materials for paper production have been maintained constant during last decade. In Europe, fibres from non-wood resources proceed mainly from flax and hemp crops. Hemp core is considered a by-product of the process, mainly used in equestrian sector. The application of these fibres for papermaking process gives a significant added value to the sector.New technologies in cooking processes like organosolv pulping gives advantages compared with traditional Kraft cooking. Hemp fibres obtained by means of organosolv process have been compared with eucalyptus Kraft pulp to determine if physical and mechanical properties of final pulps are similar.Efficiency of the organosolv cooking experiments was evaluated by means of yield, percentage of uncooked sample, kappa number and viscosity.To analyze the suitability of pulp samples for papermaking applications, different evaluation of mechanical properties as morphological characterization were done. Controlling cooking conditions of hemp core, similar properties of eucalyptus Kraft fibres are obtained. 相似文献

本文就我们自1983年以来,在宜宾县定向培育的以慈竹、黄竹为主的5万亩造纸竹林基地及造纸实践,阐述了三方面内容:一、初步提出了慈竹、黄竹造纸林营造、低改培育技术措施;二、对基地竹林采伐、制材、集运、贮存等的探讨;三、慈竹、黄竹制浆造纸应用研究。五万亩基地竹林,自1989年开始供材,在今后16年内共向厂方提供35万吨竹材,平均每年供材2.2万吨,为国家节约了大量木材,推动了造纸工业的发展。 相似文献

采用仿生矿化原位合成淀粉改性纳米碳酸钙(MPCC),并将其应用于造纸技术当中.试验显示,使用该方法碳酸钙(PCC)可以被淀粉覆膜改性.填加原位生成的MPCC制备的手抄纸与填加PCC制备的手抄纸相比表面光滑度增大较多;在力学性能上,填加原位生成的MPCC的手抄纸普遍高于填加PCC制备的手抄纸;PCC的淀粉腹膜改性还可改善填料在手抄纸中的留着率,减少纸浆用量,降低生产成本.另外,仿生矿化原位合成功能性纳米碳酸钙技术在有机质改变碳酸钙表面性质的同时,还可以控制碳酸钙的晶体形貌和大小,这种技术可大大降低生产成本,增加造纸企业的经济效益. 相似文献
