ABSTRACT

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] seeds contain isoflavones that have positive impacts on human health. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of pre-plant mineral fertilization on isoflavone, oil and crude protein concentrations, and seed yield of field-grown soybean. The effects of potassium (0, 50, 100, and 150 kg K ha?1), phosphorus (0, 25, 50, and 75 kg P ha?1), sulfur (0, 15, 30, 45 kg S ha?1), and boron (0, 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 kg B ha?1) were tested separately, each with two 00 soybean cultivars (‘Golden’ and ‘Grand Prix’) grown in replicated trials at Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Québec, Canada in 2002/3. Seed total and individual isoflavone concentrations were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. Seed yield, 100-seed weight, and oil and crude protein (CP) contents were determined concurrently. Across years and cultivars, no fertilizer treatments effects were observed for most variables. This overall lack of response to fertilizers was attributed to the relatively high initial fertility of the sandy loam and sandy clay loam soils used. However, total and individual isoflavone concentrations were significantly affected by year and cultivar. Across experiments, total isoflavone concentration was 33% greater on average in 2003 than in 2002, which was characterized by above-average temperatures and severe drought. Cultivar with the greatest isoflavone concentration varied depending on the year. Fertilization does not appear to be a viable strategy to increase isoflavone concentration of soybean seeds on medium-to high-fertility soils.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Phosphorus (P) fertilization is reported to alleviate the adverse effects of sodicity on survival of the seedlings, growth, and yield of rice. However, it is not known if required levels of Olsen's P to alleviate the adverse sodicity effects varies with increased sodicity stress. The present study, conducted at various pH values (8.0, 9.3, 9.7, and 9.9) with varying levels of P fertilization (P0.0, P0.2, P0.4, P0.6, and P0.8 kg hm? 2), showed that P requirements of rice increased with increases in sodicity stress. At a pH of 8.0, 4.3 mg kg? 1 Olsen's P was sufficient for survival of the seedlings, but not for grain weight (6.3 mg kg? 1). Seedlings required 7.0 and 9.5 mg kg? 1Olsen's P to survive at pH 9.7 and 9.9, respectively. Similarly, high P levels were needed for more total and fertile tillers and spikelets numbers. One thousand (1000) grain weight and grain yield responded to 6.3, 7.7, 8.8, and 10.4 mg kg? 1 Olsen's P at pH values of 8.0, 9.3, 9.7, and 9.9, respectively. Total chlorophyll in the leaves was significant in P fertilized plants. At a pH of 9.7, plants with 7.9 mg kg? 1 Olsen's P had 52% more chlorophyll per 100 ppm sodium (Na) in the leaves compared to those at 6.3 mg kg? 1 Olsen's P. This could possibly be due to improved tissue tolerance to Na in P-fertilized plants. Plants fertilized with P had higher P and potassium (K) concentrations in their shoots. Olsen's P levels of 7.7 mg kg? 1, 7.9 mg kg? 1, and 9.5 mg kg? 1 were effective in restricting increases of Na (a potentially toxic ion) in shoots at pH 9.3, 9.8, and 9.9, respectively, thus helping plants have better yields.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Research was conducted to verify the current fertilization recommendations for St. Augustinegrass (Stenotaphrum secundatum Walt. Kuntze) lawns. Currently, a range from 100 to 300 kg nitrogen (N) ha? 1 per growing season is suggested, based on factors such as location in the state, desired maintenance level, soil conditions, etc. Research was conducted at the G.C. Horn Turfgrass Field Laboratory in Gainesville, FL from 2000 to 2002, utilizing medium to high management levels and at a sod farm in Bradenton, FL from 2001 and 2002, under low management conditions. Nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications in both locations. In Gainesville, best visual quality was generally obtained with medium (MN) or high nitrogen rates (HN). In Bradenton, MN, and HN rates provided best visual quality responses in 2002 and 2003, but higher rates of N were required than in Gainesville to maintain acceptable quality. This higher N requirement could be due to the longer growing season in Bradenton or to poor turfgrass growth resulting from inadequate pest control. In the absence of biotic or abiotic stresses, the highest rates of N were not necessary to maintain an acceptable quality lawn.  相似文献

Texas bluegrass has potential as a cool-season perennial pasture grass for the south-central USA. Slow stand establishment in competitive environments is a limitation. Forage production of this grass increases with nitrogen (N), and rhizome growth increases with phosphorus (P). Stand responses by Texas bluegrass from three seed sources to seeding rate and a complete mixed fertilizer were assessed from 1997 through 2005 on a Louisiana Coastal Plain site. A linear response (R2 = 0.39, P ≤ 0.0001) to seeding rate in March 1998 persisted through 2005, even though stands at all seeding rates improved over time. Stands did not differ (P > 0.05) among seed sources. At only the higher seeding rates, rhizome mass increased with fertilization. Soil pH decreased with fertilization, and pH was positively correlated with the final stand rating in 2005. Direct stand responses to fertilization were not detected. Lack of competitive advantage, despite growth responses, and soil acidification with fertilization indicate that increased seeding rates and delayed fertilization may enhance initial establishment of Texas bluegrass in humid environments.  相似文献

Seedlings of sour orange (Citrus aurantium L.) and Carrizo citrange (C. sinensis L. cv. Washington navel x Poncirus trifoliata)] were grown in plastic pots containing a sand: perlite mixture and watered with a modified Hoagland No 2 nutrient solution throughout the experiment. Three-months-old plants were divided in three groups and sprayed with 0.018 M iron sulfate (FeSO4 .7H2O), 0.018 M manganese sulfate (MnSO4 .H2O), or deionized water. Two months later, plants were harvested and divided into top leaves that grown after the treatments, basal leaves that existed prior to the treatments, stems that partially came in contact with the spray, and roots. The manganese (Mn) spray resulted in a significant increase of Mn concentrations in top leaves, basal leaves, stems and roots of sour orange, and in top leaves, basal leaves, and stems of Carrizo citrange. The iron (Fe) spray significantly increased the concentrations of Fe in the stems and basal leaves of both genotypes. For both genotypes, transport of Mn from basal (sprayed) leaves to top (unsprayed) ones was found. However, the results of this experiment did not give any evidence neither for Mn translocation from sprayed tissues to roots nor for Fe transport from sprayed tissues to unsprayed ones (top leaves, roots). Mn and Fe were found to be relatively mobile and strictly immobile nutrients, respectively, within citrus plants after their foliar application as sulfate salts.  相似文献

A two-year field experiment was carried out in a typical Mediterranean environment (Foggia, Southern Italy) to evaluate the effect of the reduction of nitrogen (N) fertilization on yield, quality, N uptake, N utilization efficiency, and on environmental impact of processing spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.). In a completely randomized experimental design with four replications, 50, 75, and 100% (150, 225, and 300 kg N ha?1, respectively) of the normal rate applied by the farmers in the trial area were compared. In both years, the total amount of the urea fertilizer applied was broadcasted three times. The results obtained indicate that a lower N fertilization level ensured a satisfactory yield, increased quality and N utilization efficiency. However, crop performances and the amount of N available for leaching were dependent by the weather conditions occurred during plants growth, being significant the year × N fertilization rate interaction.  相似文献

该文分析了已实施测土配方施肥技术10a的芜湖县耕地土壤有效磷含量状况及其变化特征。结果表明:该县各镇耕地土壤有效磷除陶辛镇属强变异外,其余各镇均属中等变异。各镇土壤有效磷平均含量在13.90~21.71mg/kg,较2005年,Ⅴ和Ⅵ级土壤所占比例明显下降,Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ级土壤比例显著增加。研究旨在为土壤养分科学管理和平衡施肥提供科学依据,为测土配方施肥技术的进一步完善和深入推广提供参考。  相似文献

旱地小麦休闲期覆盖施磷对土壤水库的调控作用   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
为探明休闲期覆盖配施磷肥对土壤水分运行规律、小麦产量和水分利用效率的影响,在山西省闻喜县进行了休闲期覆盖与不覆盖条件下75 kg(P2O5)·hm-2、112.5 kg(P2O5)·hm-2、150 kg(P2O5)·hm-23个施磷量的田间试验。结果表明:与不覆盖相比,休闲期覆盖后,播种—孕穗期0~100 cm土壤蓄水量显著提高,小麦播种期提高38~41 mm;增加施磷量,越冬—孕穗期土壤蓄水量提高,尤其拔节期40~100 cm土层。覆盖后,播种—拔节期土壤贮水减少量及其占整个生育期比例显著提高,拔节—开花期土壤贮水减少量增加;增加施磷量,拔节—开花期土壤贮水减少量及其比例显著提高,开花—成熟期80~100 cm土层贮水减少量显著提高。覆盖后增加施磷量,产量和水分利用效率显著提高,产量提高1 452 kg·hm-2,水分利用效率提高16%。覆盖配施磷肥条件下,拔节—开花期60~100 cm、开花—成熟期80~100 cm土层贮水减少量与产量呈极显著相关。因此认为,旱地小麦休闲期覆盖有利于蓄积休闲期降雨,提高底墒,可实现伏雨春夏用;覆盖促进小麦生育前期和中期吸收土壤水分;增施磷肥有利于提高土壤水分,促进小麦生育后期深层吸水;旱地小麦休闲期覆盖配施磷肥150 kg·hm-2有利于蓄水保墒,达到增产、高效的目的。  相似文献

由于传统的PID控制器存在较多的缺陷,针对这些缺陷提出了一种基于BP神经网络算法的PID控制器,利用BP算法局部计算简单、非线性映射能力强的特点,实现对PID控制器参数的寻优整定,并利用MATLAB软件对系统进行仿真,并通过田间试验进行了验证,结果表明,该方法可以很好地控制PID控制器的各项参数,达到了预期的控制目标。  相似文献
