BACKGROUND: The CA530-VET is a completely automated impedance cell hematology analyzer, which yields a 16-parameter blood count including a 3-part leukocyte differential. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to examine the operational potential of the CA530-VET and its value for use in veterinary practice. METHODS: The analyzer was tested for blood carry-over, precision, and accuracy. Comparison methods included the CELL-DYN 3500, microhematocrit centrifugation, manual platelet (PLT) counting for feline and equine species, and a 100-cell manual WBC differential. Blood samples for comparison of the methods were obtained from 242 dogs, 166 cats, and 144 horses. RESULTS: The carry-over ratio (K) was 0.28% for RBC, 0.59% for PLT, 0.32% for WBC, and 0.18% for hemoglobin (HGB) concentration. Coefficients of variation (CVs) for within-batch precision and duplicate measurement of blood samples were clearly within the required limits, except for duplicate platelet counts in cats (8.7%) and horses (9.5%). The WBC count was in excellent agreement for dogs and horses and RBC count was in excellent agreement for horses. The accuracy of feline WBC counts was not acceptable, with the exception of values at the high end of the range. RBC counts in dogs and cats, and HGB concentration and MCV in all 3 species were sufficiently accurate. The CA530-VET HCT results were in excellent agreement with microhematocrit results in horses but exceeded the maximum allowed inaccuracy for cats and dogs. In all species, PLT counts established mechanically and manually were not in adequate agreement. Large differences were found between the CA530-VET and the manual differential percentage for lymphocytes and "mid-sized cells" (monocytes and basophilic granulocytes). CONCLUSIONS: The CA530-VET can be considered useful for routine canine, feline, and equine blood cell analyses. It should not be considered accurate, however, for PLT counts, feline total WBC counts in the subnormal and normal range, and leukocyte differentials, except for granulocytes. 相似文献

The cross resistance of four resistant strains of Liposcelis bostrychophila Badonnel, an important stored-product insect pest, was investigated. These four strains included the HCO2-R (hypercarbia-resistant strain), HCLO-R (hypoxia and hypercarbia resistant strain),DDVP-R (DDVP-resistant strain) and PH3-R (PH3-resistant strain). The results indicated that there were cross-resistances between CA and insecticides, and the quantities of the cross-resistance were different. The cross-resistance factor (RF) of HCO2-R to hypoxia and hypercarbia was 3.2458, whilst, that of HCLO-R to hypercarbia was 1.8280. The RF of DDVP-R to PH3 was 3.9614, whilst, that of PH3-R to DDVP was 2.7852. The RF values of DDVPR and PH3-R to hypercarbia were 1.3550 and 1.1816, respectively. However, the RF of HCO2-R to DDVP was 2.1372. There also was a low cross-resistance between DDVP-R and HCO2-R. The RF of HCO2-R to PH3 was 3.3698. This sugqested that the insects resistant to high CO2concentration atmosphere would develop significant resistance to PH3. However, the insects resistant to PH3 remain sensitive to hypercarbia atmosphere. Both DDVP-R and PH3-R developed resistance to high CO2 treatment. There was a low cross-resistance between DDVP-R and HCLO-R. The insects resistant to hypoxia and hypercarbia were very sensitive to DDVP. There also was cross-resistance between HCLO-R and PH3-R, but the resistance of PH3-R to hypoxia and hypercarbia was lower than that of HCLO-R to PH3. The difference of the overlapping and separate values indicated that there were differences in the intercross-resistance of four resistant strains. 相似文献

The effects of two cypermethrin insecticides, alpha-cypermethrin and theta-cypermethrin on the transient outward potassium (IA) channels in freshly dissociated hippocampal CA3 neurons of rat, were studied using whole-cell patch clamp technique. The results indicate that alpha-cypermethrin increased the amplitude of IA and theta-cypermethrin decreased the amplitude of IA, and both of them shifted steady activation curve of IA towards negative potential. Theta-cypermethrin contributed in the inactivation of IA. Alpha-cypermethrin prolonged the time constants for the recovery from inactivation kinetics of IA. These results imply that transient outward potassium (IA) channels are the target of cypermethrin, which may explain the mechanism of toxical effects of cypermethrin on mammalian animals. 相似文献

研究了冬枣果实在低温(-1~-2℃)条件下,8个不同体积分数的气体成分(15%O2+0%CO2、10%O2+0%CO2、5%O2+0%CO2、2%O2+0%CO2、2%O2+2%CO2、2%O2+4%CO2、2%O2+8%CO2、2%O2+10%CO2)和1个对照(21%O2+0%CO2)处理对冬枣果实呼吸、果肉相对硬度、组织相对电导率、维生素C含量以及贮藏效果的影响。研究结果表明,适当的低O2可降低冬枣果实的呼吸强度、抑制果肉硬度的下降、减慢组织相对电导率的升高、延缓维生素C的降解、维持冬枣果实良好的贮藏品质 而贮藏环境中的CO2则会促进果实呼吸,导致组织相对电导率升高,促进维生素C的降解,加速了冬枣果实的软化,鲜食价值迅速丧失。2%O2+0%CO2的气体条件对冬枣贮藏最为有利。 相似文献

为探究科学合理的耕地规划方法,以河南省兰考县为例,从影响耕地规划的适宜性、限制性及竞争性3个方面对土地适宜性进行分析,并运用CA(cellular automata)模拟系统,模拟2020年兰考县指标控制下的耕地规划情况。结果表明,兰考县2020年耕地面积为76 411.32 hm~2,其中因城镇发展导致耕地面积减少226.44 hm~2,村庄、内陆滩涂及果园等其他土地转化为耕地的面积为8 227.13 hm~2。结合耕地适宜性评价结果对比发现,质量上模拟规划的耕地高于现行的土地利用规划中的耕地,空间分布上同时避开城镇发展、生态保护及其他因素的影响,具有稳定性。该研究为管理者制定耕地规划提供重要的方法参考。 相似文献
